I love the “monster under the crib” motif. I use it a lot, mainly because a lot of my foster dogs have issues they need to overcome. I think working with them every day seeps into the comic.

Our Weezy was considered a bite risk and scheduled to be put down when we signed over all liability. If you met her today you would never guess how troubled her past was. We’re never complacent about her training, but sometimes it’s hard to erase the dog she was to what she is now. She never ceases to amaze us.

In other words, never give up on a dog, because they will never, ever give up on you.

He lives in North Carolina with his family, which includes a herd of rescued dogs and cats.
