Hi! My name is Miles Johnston. I got into practicing drawing seriously around 11 years ago when I was 13. I was a frequent poster on a forum that was pretty popular back in the day called Conceptart.org, with dreams of working in the film and games industry. As time went on I fell more and more in love with drawing as an end itself. Now I am trying to move into the fine art world, by growing my presence online on Instagram and Reddit. This year I have been pretty fortunate and just booked my first solo show next year at a gallery called Last Rites in New York.
I love to work in pencil, I love that I can take my work anywhere, and I love that I am essentially using the same tools to draw with that I have been since I was a child. My main influences and art heroes are Alphonse Mucha, Zdzisław Beksiński, Frantisek Kupka, Gustav Klimt, M.C Escher, Junji Ito, Takato Yamamoto, Ernst Fuchs and many more to mention.
When asked what Beksiński's paintings were about, he was always reluctant to give them specific meanings and didn't like to title them either. He has a particular quote on what art meant to him that always struck a chord with me,
"I wish to paint in such a manner as if I were photographing dreams".
I think that just about sums it up. Hope you're all well and thanks for looking.

I dunno what kind of dreams the rest of the world been having, but last night I dreamed I adopted a duck. Nice drawings though haha
These are very surreal! I love the details, love the creativity and imagination
