I Kind Of Went Viral And It Was Depressing

I posted an article on Bored Panda about comments I sometimes receive when I am out and about with my children. I didn’t even know what Bored Panda was until a few days ago. I was thinking like it would help me keep an online journal and post some fun photos every now and then. First Popsugar emailed, then Huffington Post. How fun is this I thought? People like what I wrote! It’s interesting. How exciting to perhaps be able to follow a dream of writing and my photography! Both articles were posted on their sites within 2 days and Yahoo News picked it up. I don’t know if it’s because it’s Yahoo News, but that’s where the majority of the comments are. People, if this ever happens to you, do NOT read the comments. I repeat, do NOT read the comments! Of course I put myself out there, so I need to claim some responsibly here, but I have since been referred to as a “breeding rabbit,” “a whore,” and a woman who should “shut her legs.” A selfish narcissist comes up a lot as does overpopulation and the fact that my husband and I will end up in divorce. One guy named Scott keeps calling my children ugly. Now hold on, wait a minute! Did you even see the photos?!? My children are beautiful. And I dare you to say that to my face. I’ll go mama bat bear crazy on your butt. Jerk. I spent about an hour pouring over comments trying to find witty and kind responses, then I gave up. These people don’t care about me, they have no idea who I am or what I stand for. Is this how people actually are? So mean and ready to spout ugly words at complete strangers? All the more reason to keep “popping kids out like a Pez Dispenser” to get some decency back into the world. ❤️
