On July 10th, 2015 I set foot outside of my apartment homeless, jobless, and had minimized my possessions down to one bag on my back. This was intentional. I was setting out to hitchhike across the United States from Orlando, Florida to San Francisco, California. And I did just that, completing my journey with the help of approximately 40 rides in 15 days of hitchhiking on August 19th in the great state of California.
I brought two cameras and edited each night wherever I ended up, be that in the middle of a corn field in my tent or at a motel six off an exit in Kentucky.
Before this trip, my life was completely predictable. Get up, go to work, engage in social interaction on weekends, repeat. Day in, day out. With hitchhiking, especially across the United States, you have no clue where you will be the next day or even in the next hour. I found myself getting a pedicure in a mall in Eugene, Oregon, riding passenger with a man freebasing crack in an Audi outside of Atlanta, and in a van filled with an Asian family of six coasting through the Northern California mountains.
Please enjoy the videos that I shot and edited while on this journey, I truly believe many will get gain true value from each one.
