Ever since I was a little kid, I always dreamed of seeing Mt. Everest, the world’s tallest mountain, with my own eyes.
So even though I couldn’t go to the very top this year, I decided to go to the basecamp and get so close to the mountain, I could almost touch it!
This is how it looked…

I started the hike at 2,700 meters above sea level and even though the weather was a little cloudy, my surroundings were absolutely gorgeous
I crossed dozens of mountains, villages and bridges until…
I reached the biggest village on the trail – Namche Bazaar that was surrounded by cloud-breaking mountains
After leaving Namche, I went into the “High Himalaya” and could see the really tall snow-covered mountains
The higher I walked, the more beautiful it became…
And the more hot tea I needed as it became incredibly cold!
Nonetheless I continued walking towards my goal and admiring the absolutely breath-taking views all around me
Until I finally reached the basecamp of the tallest mountain in the world – Mt. Everest. I have no idea how this place is real, but apparently it is :)
If you want to see the whole trip, watch this video I just made!
