I Entered An Abandoned Food Chemistry Institute Illegally To Take Pictures (30 Pics)
A building that whispers stories of the past, dressed in art, a building still alive… It houses, in the chaos created by the vandals, piles of books, encyclopedias read by those who once wrote history there.
I step inside it and the Neo-Romanian style of architecture brings me to silence. It is one of the most beautiful buildings built in this style that I have ever seen. The dilemma arises between the need to photograph the touch of time on places and the upsetting feeling I get when I notice the degradation of some of the rooms that cannot be saved, whose spirit screams. All I am left with is the need to capture their beauty born from suffering.
Let me tell you a story… Once upon a time, there was an institute… This institute, to be more precise. The research activity began in 1929, on a field where the vastness of the grass looked like the hope for a promising future. The institute was divided into three sections: agricultural, chemical, and phytopathological. The year 1930 meant that the laboratories of the institute were equipped with the necessary equipment and that on June 29 the festive inauguration took place. In the presence of foreign delegates and a large audience composed of representatives of scientific and economic life in the country, the building stood in all its splendor. What followed… well… the photos will tell you.
