I Draw Instagram Selfies In Ink

A few months ago, I wanted to work on improving my ink drawing skills as well as my ability to draw likeness portraits in ink, so I asked Instagram users to submit their favorite selfie(s) using the hashtag #fritzselfiesub.

I really enjoy drawing human faces, so this has been an enjoyable adventure!

It takes about 30 minutes or so to draw one selfie and I’m on number 70. I finally started scanning them and they’ll all be in a book together. I feel like my ink skills have definitely improved over the course of the last couple of months.

Those are great! It would be wonderful to see the pictures you were inspired from. Could you post them?

Social media is an excellent source of drawing references and ways of practicing different faces and bodies etc. I love your line work and even though they are from a set reference photo you bring your own personality and style to them. Love it! I'm also not worthy of your scanning skills, so perfect! *bows down*
