Inktober 2018 was special for me, I decided to make a consistent theme for this challenge which turned into a series for animal rights. I managed to complete all of the 31 days with the aim to make people more aware of animal suffering around us.
Some interpretations of the themes are symbolic and maybe a bit far-fetched, but I had to handle all of them somehow.
I drew with markers on A5 canvas.
Some images have an additional caption to convey the message more clearly.

this breaks my heart. i don't understand how anyone can abandon any animal..especially at such a young age where this basically always means they are going to die a slow and painful death while being scared and alone, not understanding what is happening, crying for their mother who will not answer.
people that do this to any pet in real life should suffer the same pain as punishment and then go to jail. If you are not capable to take care of your pet please find a shelter, better than mistreating them and left to die
if its plastic that looks like ivory i understand wanting something like this but killing a animal just for ivory is idiotic
Last male white rhino passed away in 2018
Do you mean in the wild ? there are many in protection of sanctuaries, as are the elephants !!!
Maybe the Marsupial wolf is still hiding in the depths of Taz? Hoping there is a large enough population to pop out and surprise us.
It's a fact that many creatures in the ocean, are caught in fishing nets, suffer a slow death, then there is the plastic abundance, same thing, killing many creatures as they eat it or tangled with the nets as well !!!
I know I will get downvoted to hell, but the tail placement is too low. Tail nicking is not a thing in the Western style. There would normally be a cinch in front, not just the back strap (I don't ride western, but have been told it keeps the saddle from flipping up...why, god alone knows). Plus the saddle is too far back. As a side note, this horse looks fit, not thin, and the domesticated horse is very capable of carrying weight. You want to see suffering? check out The Brooke, they support working equids in the poorest nations whose families depend on them. Look up brick kiln donkeys in India. The f****d up life will shock you.
If is saw an animal in a hot car I would break the window and slash three of the persons tires, then I’d steal the animal, people who do this don’t deserve animals
Ikizukuri - still alive when served
Oh my god... I had no idea this existed. What the hell is wrong with people? You want to eat something butchered alive? Then give your own child to the chief so he can prepare it. If you can't, then it should probably not exist for any other species.
This reminds me of one movie I watched as a kid. It was about this forest worker who gets shrunken and finds out that there is a little society protecting the forest. What was it called?
Beavers can clear out a stand of trees fairly rapidly. This beaver is looking at this tree like it's the only one in the woods. Btw, American forests are regenerating faster than ever to due thoughtful logging laws.
I don't really get this one. I live in a place where there are A LOT of deer and yes it's very sad when they get hit, but it can't always be helped and it's often just as dangerous for the person who hit them as for the deer. They often run right out in front or towards the car and there isn't any way to avoid it. And it's said that it's like hitting a brick wall and people are often injured or killed. So it's sad but I wouldn't equate it with animal cruelty considering people don't typically hit them on purpose.
