I Created Neon UV Photography To Help Me Cope With My Traumatic Brain Injury After A Drunk Driver Changed My Life (NNFW)
Important to note: Some images will display nudity. Thank you.
On March 19, 2014, I was caught in a hit and run accident where a drunk driver going more than 100 miles per hour in a residential zone of 40 mph smashed my car. I was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI). I had to have hip surgery and now will need spinal surgery. A lot of my memory, both long- and short-term, has been erased. I’ve been with my girlfriend for ten years — I don’t remember the first five, or my childhood. I constantly suffer migraines, temper changes, confusion, and backaches.
I realized I had to return to college for a degree in digital media because I would no longer be able to work a job at which I needed to stand. I fell in love with design and photography art, because I could finally mentally share with those around me what I’m going through. That’s what I love about art.
Since then, two of my UV light neon photo series have received international attention. “Neon Dreams” appeared in a magazine in Portugal, and this September, “Neon Dreams” and “VIXEN” were both displayed on Vente-privee building in Paris, the largest digital facade in Europe. I have always been drawn to photo ideas that are modern and eye-catching, like bright, vibrant colors.
When you nearly die, you have a difficult time coping with such an enormous event. This kind of unique art was the only way I knew how to let people in on what I was thinking. I was never good with words, but I could illustrate my feelings, emotions, and thoughts through it. Photography motivates me to look at the brighter side of life and to make something different that will hopefully inspire others who are dealt with difficult circumstances beyond their control.
I hope you all enjoy my journey. Thank you for all the support, I hope you can like it and share with your friends and family. I love sharing these cool photos with the world, it’s an intimate look inside my soul.

Share on FacebookThank you very much. As an artist, it's hard to find your own "fingerprint" neon UV photography is mine and it helped me cope with such a tragic event in my life.

Load More Replies...This is absolutely phenomenal. I'm so sorry you were hit by a drunk driver.
