I Created A Set Of Manga Girls By Hand Using Color Pencils And The Complementary Color Scheme

Complementary colors are colors that lie opposite the color wheel. When placed next to each other, they are more intense and vibrant looking. That was the inspiration behind these series of manga girls.

So, I took first different colored card stocks and made note of their complementary color. Then using colored pencils I then drew by hand each girl with that complementary color.

The result is that the work really pops!

I also added some floral/calligraphy or abstract shape design to add more interest.

Here’s a cheat sheet of Complementary colors : Red – Green; Orange – Blue; Yellow – Purple; Pink – Aqua.
