I Create Magical Pieces With Real Insect Wings To Give Them New Life
I’ve always loved to create, and being able to share what I create with people all over the world is more than gratifying. I’m preserving fragile life and giving it a new one with a new purpose. Children and adults alike see butterflies with an unmatched delicate beauty that’s almost magical, and to let that go to waste is a shame. My creative works have inspired people, give them the confidence they didn’t see before in themselves, and remind people that there’s still beauty in things they may have forgotten to see.
I find most of my wings myself. I’m definitely not squeamish when it comes to collecting dead cicadas or other insects from underneath the trees. Luckily I have some amazing friends and followers I’ve connected with that donate their winged finds to me to create with. I also work with butterfly and moth breeders that raise caterpillars to release into the wild populations that send me the ones that don’t make it. Estate sales and little antique or thrift stores have also scored me amazing finds from old insect collections to shadowboxes, and other neat things.
There’s so much beauty to be seen in even the smallest of things that nature provides, and I want to capture that and let others see it the way I do because I’m so inspired by it. What I create with real insect wings is a way for me to preserve and immortalize their beauty and spirit. I give them a new life – a new purpose, but in a magical and ethereal way with iridescence and quality and durability with resin. I want to create magic for people like fairies really exist!

Share on Facebooki love them, assuming they are found on dead insects and not harvested live.
To each their own, but I think this is gross. "Luna moth on deer skull"? Yikes twice.
You're so right. My apologies.
