I did a similar project for my sick friend. She had lung cancer and was told she did not have long to live. I had just read Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes and got everyone I knew to start making paper cranes. For her birthday we hung up the cranes in her room while she went out for dinner with her family. She lived despite what the doctors said and she thinks it is because of the 1000 paper cranes

Wow. They all look magical, beautiful, complex and delicate. This is master level of skill, talent and creativity in crane making.
