We always hear that if you want to grow yourself you must put yourself in an uncomfortable position. Well, I can only agree. That's why I decided to participate in the yearly Inktober challenge to push myself out of my comfort zone. But with my own topic and aims. I decided to work on my portrait skills and settled down on 'strong female role models' theme.

I learned quite a few things, for example, how to organize myself and use my limited time more productively. And how good preparation goes a long way.

Am I happy with the results? Yes and no. I'm not 100% satisfied with every piece I made but the last month gave me so many new ideas and inspiration.

Would I do it again? Yes for sure - and I'll try to challenge myself more often on an everyday basis too.

Will I keep drawing strong women portraits? Yes but not every single day. Maybe twice or three times a week? How does it sound?

Her dedication to science is impressive. Also, she was a very courageous woman who did not hesitate to fight for her happiness and needs. I respect her not only for her intelligence and knowledge, but also for her courage.

Another woman, who is very important to me. She was extremally tallented and that's a pity that her end was so sad. Her "The bell jar" is a masterpiece for me. Also, it's really moving that before her suicide she still took care of her children - she made sure that they are safe and made breakfast for them. Tragic life, shocking death, lot of wasted potential :(

I love her, her style and her determination That's incredible that despite all adversities, she has come so far. That's really inspiring.

And she was only twenty when she wrote "Frankenstein". It would be impressive even today, not to mention beginning of XIX century.

Victorian era is fascinating for me. That was a weird time. Amazing progress of medicine and generally science. Electricity, beginning of modern surgery, time of big social changes. On the other side, huge gap between rich and poor, lots of corruption and ridiculously devoted people. No other time was so contrastful, maybe except nowadays.

She's gradually retreating from politics. She's giving up the leadership of her party this year and plans to be the chancellor at most until 2021 (unless it comes to sooner, unregular elections), after that she plans to fully retreat from politics. I don't agree in everything with her but I'll still miss her.

Sick Boy, all of these women are legitimate role models for many successful girls and women! Also, Beyonce doesn't need her husband to have power and influence. Neither does Eleanor Roosevelt!
