It took me 1 year to go around and capture old villas that have an interesting story and incredible architecture in Dalat, Vietnam. I knew about these villas from when I was a child but only when I moved, I realized how amazing they are. Last year I came back to Dalat and documented my journey of exploring their beauty and story. I always wanted to show foreigners and tourists the beauty of it especially French people.
Dalat had been known as a place for French people to relax in Indochina Era, that’s why we have those villas.

Like you, I grew up as a child in Dalat and had fond memories of the architecture. My mom was a teacher at Bui Thi Xuan so we live near the school where many amazing villas were built. As a matter of fact, I’m building my first Vietnamese French style architecture in Texas for my family. Should be done summer 2021. Thanks for capturing these images and sharing your story. Much appreciated! Lân Dalat.
