I Can’t Seem To Keep Plants Alive, So I Made My Dream Indoor Garden Out Of Art Materials
I grew up in a house full of plants - my mom is your classic crazy plant lady. There are currently 70 potted plants in my parents' apartment, and the collection seems to always be growing.
When I moved out on my own a number of years ago, I thought I might add a bit of greenery to my own space. Nothing ambitious, just cute cacti here and a couple of succulents there. My mom even gifted me with a few of her own precious plant babies.
They have now all passed on, and have been (I would like to think) reconstituted back into the dirt.
Clearly, I did not inherit my mom's green thumb and frankly thinking about all the mites & other nasty pests that prey on indoor gardens, I'm not sure I'm ever going to grow one, so to speak. But I still very much love plants and gardening (about half of my vacation photos are of other peoples' gardens...), so I decided to create my own out of paper, polymer clay, and a bunch of other art supplies I have lying around.
I know that I'm not alone in my plant-killing ways (apologies again to my beloved moon cactus and echeverias), and hopefully, these will bring you some joy if you also happen to unintentionally kill the plants that you love.
You can follow my miniature plant (and other things) journey on Instagram, and on the rare occasion that I'm willing to part with a tiny plant, you can find them in my Etsy shop.
