How I Destroyed My Perfectly Good Paintings, And Was Absolutely Happy With It
Each painting contains an object I saved from my childhood home. I previously posted the original paintings here but wasn’t happy with the result.
It didn’t convey how I felt about my childhood memories. One day I took one up and started kneading it, not destroying it totally, but handling it roughly enough so they would bare signs. The first painting I crumpled was the most heart-wrenching at first, but soon I felt a great feeling of relief and pleasure doing it.
The results show perfectly what my intentions of the series were, and I’m happy I did it!
