How Did I Change Japanese Kimonos Into Jewelry? (30 Pics + Movie)

Almost a year after my trip to Japan I made the decision to turn my fascination with the Country of Cherry Blossoms into the world of jewelry.

Firstly I explore the world of Japanese symbols and art, I reached for old traditional woodcuts and themes that are repeating in Japanese crafts & art.

Among my souvenirs brought from my trip to this country, I brought pieces of fabric that I used as elements of jewelry.

Here I present You the story of how I bring to life my silver jewelry collection: “Japanese tale enchanted in silver”. In this collection, each item is created in only one unique piece. All silver pattern has been hand-made cut with jeweler’s saw and combined with the real fabric used in kimonos. I used traditional goldsmith technique and worked only with high-quality sterling silver (925).

I invite you to watch the short movie to see the creation process of one of the pendants – “Flying Cranes” :)
