How Depression Translates Into Art: Dawid Planeta Journey Through The World Of Subconsciousness.
In 2017 Dawid Planeta had gone through depression which inspired him to create an incredible series of works that he continues to this day – “The Minipeople”.
Recently he released a documentary – very deep, calming and meditative that will take you on a journey through his mind.
It’s a beautiful experience that will leave you speechless and make you think about life.
It’s absolutely fantastic and I wish it was longer.
Here are few words from the artist himself:
“You can imagine my surprise when it turned into a project inspiring hundreds of thousands of people all around the world!” – he says – “I realised I tell people something important – that they are not alone in their struggle. There are others who have similar problems, who are coping with depression, anxiety and fear. And it’s not something they should be ashamed of.”
“As a society we are so used to pretending that things are different than they really are. We actually started to believe that everyone around us is perfect, beautiful and happy. We grew up learning that being angry, sad or worried is inappropriate and unnacceptable.”
“But being weak, scared and worried is part of our nature, part of life. This is how we deal with difficult emotions and there’s nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with having problems or not being able to cope with our over-compicated world sometimes.
“Once in a while we need to take a break from all the stress and explore other parts of life – the mysterious, unknown and beautiful. We need time spent contemplating art, listening to music. Being fully focused, being in the moment. This is what I want to give you with my art – opportunity to reach deeper, beyond your mind. To a place of magic.”
