A good tattoo usually takes a lot of time and effort. And not only the tattooing itself; coming up with the best idea and finding the right artist can be time-consuming as well. For a reason—the last thing you want is something this permanent to be disappointing if not horrifying.
Some people don’t seem to properly think things through. Others might have a very odd sense of beauty, while a few are plain unlucky with how their tattoos turn out. All of these and many more instances can be found on this Facebook group, with a name that says it all—”I'm not tattoo-shaming, but I'm tattoo-sorry you gotta deal with...that”. With roughly 6.4 thousand members, the group is a never-ending source of terrible tattoos, and we have found some of the best (or should I say worst?) examples to prove it. Scroll down to view the disasters.

You don’t have to be a tattoo artist to see how bad some of these tattoos are. Whether it’s the design or the execution to blame, the end results range from surprising to hilarious and horrifying. In some cases, all of the above.
They show that it doesn’t necessarily have to be misspelled to be regertful. History Of Tattoos has revealed that as much as 17% of people regret the ornamentation on their body. The most common reason for feeling this way—it’s a tattoo of someone’s name.
According to Ipsos, back in 2019, 30% of people in the US had at least one tattoo. (The percentage increased from 21% in 2012.) The number of inked people is ever changing and so are tattoo trends. Some of the most popular designs that were cool and original back in the day would likely be considered outdated at best at the current time.
Glamour suggests that, when it comes to trends for 2023, minimalist lines and nature motifs are going to be the popular option. It emphasizes the importance of artistic expression through tattoos, and suggests that original pieces, as well as so-called sticker sleeves, and nature-inspired designs will take over the industry.
To everyone minimising this automatically as "just" a BDSM thing; it's equally likely that this woman is being emotionally abused or manipulated in a non-consensual way. Just because it's slapped with a BDSM label does not mean that actual abuse can't be happening under the surface. A collar, a piercing, a subtle tattoo... that's one thing. This is coersive control in another guise. No genuine, sane Dom would want to do this to their sub's body.
First, totally agree with you. BUT...., what if Dean Morrall has no idea who this woman is. Wouldn't that be an interesting twist.
Load More Replies...Im willing to bet that Dean is the one who tattooed this. Any other artist would've called 911
I am (was) VERY into BDSM with my late fiancé. He had me have my body marked as his... But in Sharpie. That's as permanent as something like that should be, cause how awkward is it gonna be explaining that to your family when it's summer and you're wearing a bathing suit?
She probably isn't allowed to wear a bathing suit!
Load More Replies...This is absolutely terrifying and disgusting. This is flat out abuse.
Often used by pimps to mark the prostitutes they "own". This is not a funny picture but someone living in modern day sexual slavery
If this were my daughter, "Dean" would disappear never to be found. WTF????
Blink once if you need help. I cannot believe someone would actually do this tattoo. Holy Christ.
I feel so bad for her, you know it’s an abusive s****y relationship - no one would willingly agreed to this b******t. Hopefully the a*****e will be off this planet soon, and I hope it’s painful.
Wanna bet that @losthopesanddreams IS Dean and he's all butt hurt cuz no one liked his handiwork?
Load More Replies...Dean's wife, please run. even if you're both into this, that's a BIG YIKES
Even the BDSM practicioners I know who are into some seriously heavy stuff would balk at this.
What kind of a tottooist even agrees to to make that? 😨 Unless Dean was the tattooist as well.
I believe feathers, and I can read the word Radost under the first one - that means 'joy' in Serbian and various other slavic languages. I hope those are not their babies names....I mean I hope they didn't procreate
Load More Replies...I went down this rabbit hole once. She cheated on Dean and left him for another guy shortly after this. No idea what she did about the tattoos...
So... she dd all that and cheated? Makes it even worse.
Load More Replies...Hope Dean gets a socially unacceptable, unbearably itchy, decidedly embarassing rash on his butt.
sad.. that's what this is. The devil you know is safer then the world outside?
I'm going to cheer you all up a bit and tell you after careful examination that this is Photoshop. They did ok with forming the letters to the curves of the back but in some places it isn't right. It is fake
Not photoshopped: https://www.reddit.com/r/ATAAE/comments/lfslxb/it_the_deans_list_her_father_had_in_mind/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Load More Replies...This is very disturbing! Her body belongs to her and her God. I hope she runs away and fast!
this makes me want to vomit. I hope she escapes and finds a good cover up artist.
WOW. Talk about a lack of self respect. This is as bad as a "Property of" badge on a biker b***h.
Looks like the results of an outright controlling and abusive relationship...
I think this is fake as faa uck, it's not tattoo ink, EVERY letter is way too perfect, No fading, anything even the alignment, everything is just to precise, except the line at the bottom, her Tramp stamp. look at the letter E especially but even a few of the other letters. IMO
This one hurts in a way I didn't think possible. Woman, I'm all for any type of relationship as long as it's safe, sane and consensual, including the submissive one. BUT WHY WOULD YOU COMMIT THIS HARD TO IT?!
I feel feckin sick here! The others have been funny but this is just straight up disturbing!
😱 Man...she needs to divorce his controlling a*s & make sure she gets enough $ to have laser tattoo removal - at least of his name. She could always have The Lord, Jesus, or God tattooed in after, if she didn't remove the entire thing(s). But, then again, she'd probably end up with ANOTHER controlling d**k that may be worse than the one she has. HE probably figures she'd never leave him cuz his name all over her body. Not sure which one is the bigger moron 🤔
Is she wearing white jeans and no underwear? In addition to the just wrongness of the tattoo. Not to kink shame, just tackiness shame.
I Googled this madness, they get no sympathy here, I think they're just crazy. I think she designed those to outdo the ex-wife who has similar but less dramatic tats Theres even a picture of her smiling and proud to have that s**t. The story didn't sound like abusive, it just sounds like they're just crazy as hell.
exactly - here is the Reddit link https://www.reddit.com/r/ATAAE/comments/lfslxb/it_the_deans_list_her_father_had_in_mind/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Load More Replies...I had to search for this. The tattoos are real, in total 23 tattoos with his name on her body. The last was made right before they found out that she was pregnant. She cheated on him while pregnant and left him for the other guy. There are also claims that he has tattooed his name on other women too.
She has them on her front side too, google Dean Morrall and they pop up
The worst part about this one is that, based on those awful feather tattoos, she's actually raising kids
I can picture her lying there thinking "huh, this doesn't feel like a butterfly"
That woman must be really stupid to have first married Dean. Dean's name should be "Amorrall" or better yet: Moron! And the tattoo artist who make that thing... urghhh
so... she actually cheated on dean. https://i.imgur.com/biTDOuE_d.webp?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium
Hey whatever works for them (as I notice upon closer inspection that her son has the same name as my son..ugh)
However, some designs are believed to be able to stand the test of time. According to Tattoo For A Week, parlors often help clients figure out what they might want to get, as they have books brimming with ideas. Some of the all-time most popular images there include dolphins, stars, wings, hearts, and butterflies.
According to Ibis, there are roughly 33,500 tattoo parlors in the US alone that employ just over 44,000 artists. The data also reveals that the industry has been steadily growing in the last five years, which implies that the number of atrocious tattoos might be increasing with time as well. But luckily, nowadays, there are ways to remove them.
What body part is that on? Seriously. More important issues than that monstrosity.
Healthline points out three main ways for removing a tattoo: laser removal, surgical excision, and dermabrasion. The first option includes working with a Q-switched laser, which fades out the tattoo—it sends a pulse of energy, which dissolves the ink by heating it. Laser removal usually requires multiple sessions, but it’s one of the most common and successful ways of getting rid of the design you no longer want on your body.
As the name suggests, surgical removal is a more invasive procedure, during which the tattooed part of the skin is cut out using a scalpel. Dermabrasion also requires removing the skin, but instead of a section, it is removed in layers, allowing the ink to ooze out.
There can be hundreds of reasons for removing a tattoo, and work might be one of them. Depending on the job, some workplaces still have a negative outlook toward them. Statistics show that nearly 76% of Americans believe that they (together with piercings) make it more difficult to get a job. (The majority (61%) of HR specialists agree with being less motivated to hire a person with a visible tattoo when it’s on his face.) However, roughly 40% of employed people (aged 18 to 34) have tattoos nevertheless.
Here's a tattoo I gave myself with a cheap tattoo machine from Amazon
I thought this was “my mom battled cancer for 5 years. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice” kind of tattoo 😳
Roasting myself for this trailer park tattoo I got when I was 13
The resemblance is uncanny…..
The face looks okay…but it sure isn’t Kate Winslet. Maybe the person asked for their face to be substituted?
A friend from highschool's "matching" tattoo with her sister
She tattooed her own ear and fingers and failed miserably
I mean no insult to the man himself but Stevie Wonder could have done a better job than any of these.
Have you seen Stevie Wonder's new house? Neither has he!
Load More Replies...What is cool when a person is 22 may not be the same when they are 52. I choose to restrict my bad ideas to T-shirts.
Perhaps but it's also a cool way to see where you were at that time in your life
Load More Replies...I'd love if someone did (or linked to) a before & after tattoo series, but like 20-years or more in between. Seeing how even a decent tattoo looks after years of weight changes, wrinkling, tanning, etc.
Yea, like a tiger stretched out over 20 years becomes a giraffe!
Load More Replies...Yeah someone should just give them free laser removal to spare society from this horrors.
A guy got mugged in New York city. The cops asked If the mugger had any visible tattoos. The victim replied "Yes. HE had the word STUPID tattoed on his forehead
People people people don't get a tattoo on a bet or while drunk! And if you get a tattoo check the artists work first honestly 🙄. Also tattoos are definitely something you shouldn't be frugal with
