Hong Kong’s Shocking “borg” Cubes: Homes Of The Poverty-stricken
What is the average size of the houses in the UK? What about 90 sq m? Sounds right, doesn’t it? It would be enough for 4 or 5 rooms where a family will have enough space to function properly.
But, what if I tell you there are thousands, even millions of people who live in extremely different conditions? We are talking about less than 10 sq m where your whole family should live. Sounds terrifying, right? The sad truth is what is terrifying for you is a reality for many others. Meet Hong Kong’s cubicle disastrous homes.
People even live in actual cages.
When does small become too small?

Share on FacebookIt's really easy to look down from a life of privilege and be shocked by this. You need to realize however that if you're poor, these are actually pretty darn good. A sturdy roof over your head with basic amenities for a (I would hope) cheap price. In many other countries where cheap housing is non-existent you have no choice but to live in a shack built from salvage. Basically, those little cubes may be cramped, but it's still a much better way to treat low income earners. I applaud whoever built these.
I see no difference between these people and some caged animals. This is truly outrageous, but we can't do much I guess - just feel sorry for them.
It's very good you have informed people of this. I've seen some other cities trending in this direction.
This is a disaster. And here I though rooms in Islington were a rip off.
