This Week’s Scandinavian Jewelry Artist: ‘Ilona’ Shows Us There’s Always A Reason To Celebrate!
Meet Josephine Ilona or by her brand name ‘Ilona’.
Josephine is a Copenhagen-based Jewelry Artist/ Designer, a graduate of ‘Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School’ of Firenze.
Josephine’s boutique brand ‘Ilona’ focuses on sustainable production and packaging, slow fashion, and quality craftmanship alongside contemporary styles and enchanting textures.
The jewelry collections are inspired by nature, have a delicate minimalistic flow or rich texture to them, and are always presented in fantastic serene, calm yet vibrant and filled with energy telling a small backstory behind every jewel.
Josephine’s craftsmanship is superb, she not only crafts high-quality jewelry but you can clearly see she does it with love and absolute dedication to her profession. Her pieces are durable, well-crafted, and delicate.
‘Ilona’ is traditional, nature inspires in both design and sustainable thinking and is handmade with great care and devotion.
It shows you through its minimalism, that it can speak volumes and you will definitely want to celebrate with them on you as you go and collect happy memories.
Although the field of jewelry is not Eco-friendly, Josephine is trying to do her best to be that small change and help our little planet by making slowly fashioned terms of manufacturing, each piece is made with care in a non-mass-produced manner, as well as sustainable eco-friendly packaging, all while recycling any leftover metals from previous creation processes.
These ‘small’ details are not to be taken for granted in the age that we live in today, and I thank Josephine and ‘Ilona’ for being this way.
