I Stopped By My Neighborhood Market To Pick Up A Few Things, And Made An Impulse Purchase

    P-Bizzle1979 Report

A study has found that it takes just about 12 months to become bored of your space after moving in. 41% of respondents who participated in this research said that they felt tired of their homes after a year of living in them.

Decorations, layout and location were the main factors responsible for such a feeling, with furniture and appliances also appearing on the list. 22% of renters even admitted to being scared of buying their own home because they might get tired of it.

I love these kind of renovations which apply to common people . A lavish bathroom ,the size of my entire house might be good to look at, but useless for many

“When you spend so long in one place, it’s easy to become tired of the same thing,” agreed Ryan Prince, CEO and founder of UNCLE, who also commissioned the survey.

“Having an escape within the space you live is so important, not only for your well-being but also to reduce the possibilities of becoming bored with where you live.”

Recently Painted Our House And Decided To Go For Red Doors!

    Chpe4290 Report

Lori Miller, owner of LGC Interior Design, tells Bored Panda that when we follow the trends and colors of the year, we tend to grow tired of our homes quicker.

“Seeing the same thing day after day becomes monotonous. Selecting the larger purchases that are designed for 20 or even 30 years in trendy color or with trendy materials quickly gets tiring. Think kitchens for example.”

I love this! Big fan of vintage kitchens with lots of white and open cupboards.

Instead of chasing trends, Miller advises going for a well-thought-out design supplemented with classic basics. “The basics are set ahead of the trends so they remain fresh long after the market saturation. With a well-done background, simple changes keep things exciting,” she says.

Bored of their homes, nearly 1 in 10 adults would like to redecorate their spaces as often as every month. If you’re one of them and are looking to refresh your space for the new year, Miller suggests that changing wall colors with wallpaper or paint and adding new pillows or rugs can update a home without any major renovations.

“Window treatments can also update a look but may also be an upscale cost depending on what you choose,” she added.

The before picture looks like it smells of overly sweet air freshener. However the after looks like mine, so I am bound to prefer it, except I have Wedgewood blue walls and mine is about a quarter the size

Indeed, sprucing up your walls can be a noninvasive, budget-friendly and fairly easy way to add interest to your space. Adding wall art can be another option for those who aren’t in the mood to pick up a paintbrush or get hands sticky with wallpaper. Curating and hanging framed paintings, photos, and illustrations that match your style to a gallery wall adds interest, depth and texture. Besides, it’s easy to update by swapping them out whenever you grow tired of them.

As Miller already mentioned, floors can also use some accessories. When they are left bare, it can create the feeling of emptiness and blandness. If you want a cozy space but you have dull floors with zero interest, add a rug. For a more eclectic, bohemian look, you can even consider layering them.

It's rather... "nothing"? If that's an office, I'd call in sick! Honestly, it's a flimsy, wishy-washy bit of curtain, the corner of something blue (somewhat scratched!) that could be anything from a table top to a tall boy, and three nondescript vases! Where's the "Office" in this picture? I can't see one...
