Holographic Hair Is Here And It’s The Hottest Hair Trend Of 2017
We're quite sure that fashion world will remember 2017 as year of the holographic trend. It all started with holographic nails and soon the holo colors have spread to various items of clothing, accesorries and now even hair!
Talented hairstylists from Ross Michaels Hair Salon seem to have been the first to bring the term "holographic" into the world of hair coloring. By mixing blond shades with pastel lavander, baby pink and bright blue they were able to get the desirable metallic holo effect. Since then, pictures of holographic hair started popping up in Instagram and Pinterest feeds making even unicorns jealous.
You may have already seen similar haistyles titled "opal hair" but while the color scheme is similar, because of the recent "holographic everything" trend this hairstyle is here to rock this summer.

Holographic around the head not so much in the tail. But of course that is the area you get holo is on the head so lavender and lite aqua can show the blonde hair below
I wonder if this is how it would end up looking irl, more realism in this one than the shiny, perfectly lit and glossy shots elsewhere
How do I do this to my hair I have dark almost black but its dyed , I love this and the other one I commented on I would love to do this to my hair I just dont know how or what I need to do so im sure its more then one dye and id have to bleach my hair or something but I want good result and I don't want my hair ruined so what is the best way to do it & get great results
to me this looks more like the earlier grey-blue trend, not the multicolour holo
That's my princess, LOVES her Mermaid Hair!! ;)
Instead of using 'blond' as a base, why not go with black, and then add the shimmer to it? That would really be eye catching. :D
This isn't holo. It's just pastel rainbow. Y'all used the word "holo" in vain!
It's very pretty but bleach/dye every month... haven't got the time, money or hair for that!
this is just grey hair with rainbows. ITS NOT HOLO! (any Christine aka Simply Nailogical fans here?)
another "hottest hair trend" that will last one week on instagram and then fade away into nothingness
It really just looks like the mermaid hair trend but they call it holo... :"d
Anyone who doesn't understand what holographic really is ... Check out "holo nail polishes " in YouTube ...
I don't get the difference between this and mermaid or galaxy hair. All looks the same to me.
looks expensive. all that separation and the variety of colors. It's really pretty, but i'm guessing a triple digit salon bill to get this and not have fried hair afterwards. I wonder about the longevity of the colors. I had a light smokey blue and lavender hair and the colors only remained vibrant for a week. The blue washed out almost immediately (within a few days). If you do get this, get it right before you go to whatever festival you plan on showing it off at.
Its april. How can this be the hottest trend of 2017? Lord knows their is going to be some other post that is "takeing the internet by storm" and will be the biggest thing since sliced bread that will just be replaced by some other thingy next month...
This isn't holo though its just people putting pastel streaks in their hair. holo is where a single thing shifts into a whole rainbow spectrum i aint seeing a single strand rainbow so its not holo
I imagine it would be expensive to get and a lengthy application but it would last for about 3 weeks before it looked c**p.
It's NOT holographic. It's pastel rainbow colored hair. It is cute, but it's NOT HOLOGRAPHIC.
shout out to all my holosexuals. I just think that this is just rainbow hair. ITS NOT FCKING HOLO. holo as SHIFTING rainbows.
Not really seeing the difference between this and the "opal hair" that's been trending the last 2-3 years.
These girls all have fabulous hair to start with and look stunning with this colour added, however when will someone come up with a style or look for those of us who are follically challenged , no not bald but extremely fine, extremely straight and not much of it hair?
Not to be rude, this is NOT holographic. It i variations of pastel rainbow. There is no shine or metallic quality to this to make is "holographic". Please stop using the term "Holo" for everything. The hair is all beautiful, but not what you say it is.
I read the article and there is nothing holographic about it. Holographic is just the new catch phrase. Not being snarky, just honest. It's called misleading information. It should just be called Hypercolor....you know that kind of paint on cars that changes color depending on the angle in which it is viewed.
This is ridiculous. Can't wait until they actually start to coat hair with periodic microtexture for ACTUAL HOLOGRAPHIC looks
THIS IS NOT HOLOGRAPHIC!!!!!! Go look up cristine from nailogical! she can show you the real HOLO!
Considering what "normal" hair care and coloring products do your hair and scalp, I have to wonder what the accumulative effect of this does to hair and scalp.
Gorgeous but yikes! Most of their hair looks so straw-like and dead!
I wanna see how it looks like on short hair. All these girls got such long hair.
This is not HOLOGRAPHIC it is Iridescent hair color. Holograms are images that when positions are changed create a 3D image. Holograms have nothing to do with color change. Iridescence is the word every beauty company should be using for these products because if I buy your lipstick or hair color and it doesn't actually create a.new 3D image separate and different from my hair or lips I am suing and winning for intentionally incorrect and misleading sales tactics. Iridescence.
