All parents say they don’t have a favorite , but that is rarely the case. When did you pinpoint who it was?

Hmmm. I think I’m having trouble answering my own question. Maybe it was when me (middle child of 3) and my younger sister were riding our bikes home from school and nearly got hit by a car. We came home in a panic, as most kids would. Our parents seemed concerned and then judged me for not being careful while trying to soothe my little sis. Note that oldest is not in the picture, but I’ll be honest and say she had been out of the running for a while so…

Sorry I feel like the phrasing is crappy. My parents were concerned until I told them what happened , then one parent told me how I should have been more careful while the other worked on comforting the little one.

When my mom freaking told me she wished I was more like my sister

I never felt like my parents had a favorite child. But my sister definitely received more financial support from our parents. I'm not mad about that anymore - I'm sure they would have helped me too, if I ever needed it.
But I resented my sister a bit for it when we were younger. She was very financially demanding as a Teenager (expensive Presents, Clothes etc.). It‘s not like I didn‘t get the stuff I wanted, I just never wanted/needed expensive stuff. Her financial situation in her early 20ies was kinda self-inflicted because she was used to get everything she wanted. It felt like I was beeing punished for beeing good with money.

Me. My dad would always take my side on things that were obviously my fault. I don't know about my mum cuz she was a real good actor.
