It would be hard to choose but I love Simone Biles and how she speaks up for herself and is just so good in the sport but I love seeing people get medals in countries where they have never won anything before.
Oksana Chusovitina from Uzbekistan who at 46 is the oldest gymnast! She did it for 8! olympic games, and won a lot of medals!
Janja Garnbret is my favorite for women. Adam Ondra is my favorite for men. They are both climbers and we have waited so long for climbing to be in they olympics and our community finally made it! I’m so excited!
Ben Ainslie. Sailing.
In the 2012 Olympics, the Danish and Dutchman teamed up to hinder his progress making him perform a penalty turn (you have to turn the boat full circle) and leaving him 10 points behind the Dane who was leading.
After, he said in an interview 'They've made a big mistake, They've made me angry and you don't want to make me angry.' Yes, he became the HULK!
He absolutely smashed the competition the following race (I think regatta is the correct word) and closed the gap to only 4 points.
The next time on the water the Dutch and Dane said that he had hit a marker, He knew he hadn't but wasn't sure if the judges were in the right position to see, he didn't want to risk loosing a contestation (he would be disqualified) so did a penalty turn anyway.
He still overtook the Dane and earned enough points to tie up the leadership board. To get gold he only had to finish ahead of the Dane with the Dutchman finishing outside the top 3 .
Ben spent the final race positioning himself so that he blocked the wind of the Dane and the Dutchman. He just kept tormenting them, frustrating them. He seemed more focused on revenge than thinking about winning. When the wind changed direction and the Dutchman started gunning for it, Ben took a different route, he knew that the Dutchman's route was a high-risk one and that he wouldn't pull it off.
The Dutchman clipped another boat and had to do a penalty turn. Ben just casually made his way to the finish line (making sure to not let the Dane pass him either). He knew it didn't matter where he comes as long as he was ahead of the Dane.
I don't like or know anything about sailing, but damn it was exciting!
The Philippines divers because I can relate to them. I bombed on my performance also!
Bestiamonova and Bhukov, and Torville and Dean. Surya Bonaly. Otherwise, I like specific sports rather than individuals. Archery, Equestrian, Track and Field, Diving, Ski Jumping and Slalom, and the big crowd sports like Swimming, Gymnastics, Ice Skating.
Mikaela Mayer, Woman's boxing Bronze medalist, 2012. I fought her in the Olympic trials 2012 and she fed me my own a$$. I lost so badly, I quit boxing for five years.
