Hey Pandas, When Was The Moment You Knew You Were Going To Marry Your Soulmate?
Give me something cute

We had been friends for a couple of years. One day, I was driving her home and she started a sentence with, "When we get married..."
We were both in the Air Force. I had gone through a bad divorce, transferred to a new base and was living in the dorms while waiting for base housing for my kids and me. (Kids were staying with their Grandma during this time.)
One afternoon, I was walking down the hallway, glanced into the day room and saw the back of this man's head. A voice told me quite forcefully that "This is the one for you!" Oh, heck no! This happened about three more times. Never did see his face. Then one day, I was introduced to a very nice person. We eventually started dating. One day that self-same voice said "see? I told you!" So between the first "conversation", the room full of yellow roses, and the last conversation, when he asked, I said Yes! BTW: the boys and my mother adored him. Loved him with all my soul and still do although he passed a few years ago.
My now fiancé said he knew I was the one for him when we were texting about TV shows we liked and got onto the topic of Star Trek; he said something to the effect of "I like Picard Best bc he was able to find off the Borg". To that I said " Yea well that was one cube, Janeway took down the entire collective. She kicked the Borg's a*s and she'll kick yours too'. He then told his family I was the girl he was going to marry.
Back in the 80s, I was a bombshell. No brag, just the fortune of youth. Guys liked me because I was pretty, nothing more. My future husband moved into my apartment building, and we'd say hello in passing. I'd been out late partying the night before and thought I'd sneak downstairs to the manager's to pay my rent. My future hubby came out of his apartment looking nice and caught me looking a hot mess, unwashed face, hair standing all over my head, and in a ratty robe. He gave me a long stare and then said, "I'm going to the movies at 2. I'll swing by at 1:30, be out front if you want to go." Then he continued on his way. You'd better know I was out there and looking cute. We talked and laughed, and I never had to try to be someone I wasn't with him. He told me I was smart and funny, which was true, but most never noticed. By the end of the date, I knew.
I knew she was the one for me two or three days after first meeting her. She showed up unexpectedly, and I wasn't sure I'd be able to get up to greet her. Until then I'd always thought the term "weak in the knees" was just a metaphor. I knew we'd get married when I proposed six days after we met and she immediately said yes. We got married three months later. That was in 1988, and we're still together. It hasn't always been easy, but we've hung in there.
We had been dating for about three years while we were both in college. One day, I was dropping her off at her apartment after a day out. As she got out of the car, I said "Goodbye", then I waited and watched until she made it safely into her door. I remember that she was wearing a white sundress with tiny periwinkle flowers on it, and I thought to myself, "I don't ever want to say 'Goodbye' to her again." We've now been married for 30 years and have two wonderful daughters.
The moment she ate whole cloves of garlic ... This is the one!
He came to our company to see if he wanted to work in South Africa, we met and a week later he flew back to England and sold everything, including a house and flew back three months later. We both knew after the week he was here that this was it.
It was the first hockey game we went to together. Chicago Blackhawks hosting the Buffalo Sabres in 1991. A fight broke out on the ice. Without thinking, I was standing on my seat screaming some violent obscenity. When I realized what I was doing, I froze, and looked at him, staring up up me. A huge smile erupted on his face, and he turned back to cheer. He was not only accepting me for who I was, but liking a side of me he hadn't seen. Still together today.
When we realized we'd gone from saying, "If I get married someday..." to, "if we get married someday..." to, "when we get married someday...". So, I asked him, " Does this mean we're getting married?" He thought for a few seconds and said, "I guess it does."
Happily ever after.
At age 20, one week after we met She was 19. I managed an art supply store, and hired one of here friends from high school. She moved in, and it's been 34 years so far. She's the finest person I've ever known, our relationship is still great, and we get romantic every Saturday. We've raised two daughters who are still in college, and are just now pulling out of a "parenting" focus, and are getting back into "us". 21 years is a long time to "hold that thought", but we did it. My advice? Be reasonable, have empathy for one another, and communicate. That's all that is required.
ps. I'm 54 in my profile pic. It's extremely helpful for your romantic health to stay in good shape.
I don’t believe in soulmates, but I knew I was going to marry her the day after our first date. I was smitten the moment I saw her, and head over heels by morning. Two months later we moved in together. Two months after that she asked me to marry her, and two months after that we were married. Just celebrated ten years, looking forward to several more decades. It just keeps getting better and better.
We met an an military hospital in Japan while I was in the U.S. Navy. This was far before U.S. had any extraordinary talent visa avenues. She showed me that the U.S. military was attempting to persuade U.S. Immigration officials of her medical skills( Physician & Surgeon).Yet,it was being ignored, while at the sametime looked down upon by her own country. We are both multicultural and I knew right there i would marry this wonderful lady who just enjoyed helping and saving lives.
We met at sumner camp... I was a 13 year old camper, he was a 17 year old counselor. The first time we met I took one look at the bluest eyes I'd ever seen and promised myself he'd be mine one day. It only took 10 years to get him to kiss me and another two to marry me. We celebrated our 25th anniversary this year.
