That you can be alive if you get skinned "correctly" meaning don't peirce any veins or arteries and you then die of dehydration since our skin is ment to protect our meat from becoming dry and dying. That was an early evolution so that animals could walk on land without dieing. I just know for certain that you can get skinned and still be alive and not die from blood loss.

You'd actually much more likely die from hyperthermia. The skin is partly responsible for body heat regulation, along with your immune system. But your immune system needs your skin to tell it what's going on outside, while it regulates your core temperature based off of that. Also, it takes about four days to die after being 'cleanly' skinned alive. Fun facts...
