In less than a week, 2022 will officially be in the history books. While most people begin to make big plans for the New Year and a fresh start, reflecting on the year that passed is equally as important, to help us learn from mistakes and successes alike. What is your most memorable moment, happy, sad, or otherwise?

The hours I spent as a volunteer for the Ukrainian refugees arriving in my city (my country has a large border with Ukraine). I had some money, so I bought a lot of Kinder eggs to offer to the children. Seeing their innocent faces lighting up in big, happy smiles was something so powerful and unique. And also, their mothers' sighs of relief: a place where kids get chocolate eggs is a safe place. (Ok, I cried a lot too, with them and for them :)

My students and I ran a shop for people in need. Opened twice a week. Free everything. For everybody. 2x tons of food we gave away every week. Plus clothing, kitchenware, toys etc. We had funds (all sponsors and donations) to run it for a year. Sadly it's over now. Great experiences, sad sometimes. I wish we could have opened for longer....

I started college this year, and the moment I remember most is going downtown with a group of college friends to get food, and we were walking back to campus when it started downpouring. Like zero visibility, painful raindrops downpouring. About half of the group started sprinting back to campus but my half just shrugged and accepted that we would be soaked to the bone. On our way back we found some of the sprinters were hiding under a bush (and later spent hours pulling sticks out of their hair). Somebody else picked up a fallen tree branch and ran back to campus screaming while holding it like a javelin. Eventually we all got back to our dorm, soaking wet. Our food (or what was left of it) was still warm though

I took a train trip half way across Europe just to meet a friend for a few hours as I haven't seen him in forever. 16 hours each way. Worth it.

Last year i met someone online. We chatted for a month before he came from Florida to Wisconsin to meet. We fell in love and he moved up here at the end of march to be with me and my 2 kids. I've never been this happy and understood in my life.
