Interesting. Turkey. It reminded me of some art objects I was given by my grandmother from that period. A soldier's boot carved in stone and a little lady's purse made in coloured beads both made by Turkish prisoners of War.

Thanks! :) I didn’t get to go to the funeral, but my sibling made sure to go to the house while he was there just to grab the cup for me. It’s also good memories with my dad as it was usually the 3 of us.

my Dad loved Charlie Brown, Snoopy & those guys. A very serious, quiet and strict man but he would burst into laughter at the comics It makes me smile to see Snoopy doing his happy dance!

Well I can tell he was cool just by the cup! And it's the little things like this that mean the most imo!

Lol. It was a freebie he got from Pizza Hut when I was little or something, but super nice milk glass. Started having coffee with him and my dad (instead hanging with my grumpy grandmother or cousins) when I was about 8, and that was the most kid-friendly cup he had. He stated keeping it at the front of the cupboard as my dad brought us over at least once a month. I used that cup right up until he died when I was 23. My hubs found another one on eBay so I could put the one from my grandfather’s away. He was an absolute trip, though. Loved all his family equally.

It's old cloth covered wire that he wanted to hang onto so he wrapped it around a wooden dowel to keep it under control till he needed it. Now that I think about it I have rogue wires in the bottom of my tool bag I should do this DUH! 😁

Sometime's there's just greedy relatives that take things without asking and it seems like stealing... So I just used the word looting because that's how it felt the way people acted after he died.

My Grandfather carved a bar out of a single Redwood tree that had fallen in California and shipped it to MN where he lived. He also built a fireplace completely out of agates picked from Lake Superior.

This is a family heirloom in my husbands family since 1945. It is a real claw from a monstrous specimen of the Maine lobsters.

I had a large, framed list of all my ancestors in England beginning with Henry Smith in the 12th century.. My brother wanted it even though my mother had specifically given it to me. He and his son visited me,,, one day, and while his son distracted me, my brother took it off my front room wall, without my knowing, and drove away with it.. I will never recover from the shock of that.
