Growing up in Canada, I always thought the Winter Olympics were more important lol!But what sports and athletes should I be looking for in Paris?

Gymnastics is my favourite but that's because I used to do gymnastics when I was younger.
Gymnastics big time! Not because I am Romanian (and a fan of Nadia), but because I've been in awe since I first saw a gymnast on uneven bars. I even tried it myself on my grandma's fence (I was 5). Gymnasts are amazing athletes and after the nassar scandal, several gymnasts found the courage to speak up. It looks like this sport is now cleaner and safer.
Swimming. The Australian team usually does really well. Also enjoy rowing and athletics.
Fencing trials of épée. I practiced fencing for a little while as an adult, and although I was never any good, it was a lot of fun. Now I really like watching these masters going at each with lightening speed.
Probably gymnastics first, it's really entertaining to watch. Second is surfing, I know a lot of people don't watch it, but I like it for it's chillness and the kinds of waves the surfers go over.
Any that are simple enough that we can become an armchair expert after watching one round; But complex enough to require a subtlety in technique, so that when they talk you through the action replay, you can say, 'Yeah, the judges were right to call them out on that! That leg wasn't quite straight.'
I like the fencing, and the diving, and the sailing. Especially the sailing this year as it takes place at Marseille where I lived for over a year. I have sailed those waters so often I know the coast and the islands like the back of my hand.
Equestrian events. As a former eventer, I can't help but tense certain muscles at each jump.
I love seeing some of the more obscure sports, like airgun or handball. The women's Soccer tournament is probably my overall favorite, but I like seeing any of the events.
My preference, though, is for the Winter Olympics. Those sports are insane.
Women's Gymnastics. Our USA ladies generally do well! They're fun to watch as they bounce, spring, prance and fly all over! Such grace, balance and agility! Me? I fall flat on my face putting my socks on in the morning!
Suni Lee and I also share the same March 9th birthday, except she's 21 and I'm as old as the Olympics themselves! LOL!
What do you call that thing that happens just after the closing ceremony? the adverts? I like the adverts.
Gymnastics (so proud of our Canadian girls' finish)! I also enjoy diving, swimming, synchronized swimming and equestrian.
