Do you have a unique name and get a lot of questions about it?

It’s always repeated back to me- incorrectly.

My name is Sunshine, 1. Yes, it's my real name 2. No, my parents weren't hippies. 3. Yes, I'm sure I've heard all of those "sunshine songs" you've just sang to me 4. Yes, the world does revolve around me. And since I've had to endure all these, I've decided to tell people, "they named me Sunshine, because I'm so hot!" :)

"So, why did they choose to name you *that*?" followed by, "Does it have a special meaning?".

My name isn't extremely rare, but I've also only ever met one other person with my name before, so it's relatively rare. It also has a negative meaning, so that's likely why it's rare. I was named after a TV character who is the exact opposite of my personality in every way. I don't think it really suits me, but it's also the second gift my parents gave me (life being the first), so I treasure it.

Am I named after Lorelei from golden girls.
No I am named after a rock sometimes called Siren’s Peak because when the wind blows past it, it confuses sailors and they crash into the rock and die.
    :)

How to pronounce it. Or just avoid pronouncing it in general. To this day I'm certain that's the reason I never got asked questions by the maths teacher.

Were you named after one of those ‘Tweener Freak Jiu Jitsu Flamingoes’?
They’ve obviously never heard of the famous Nicaraguan Surrealist Ice Sculptor.

    If it's spelled with a 'c' or a 'k'.
Name's Markus and over here both variants are equally common, so I'm not mad about it at all.

My last name is Wile. Pronounced how it's spelled. Literally just spelled with regular, english phonics, but people still pronounce it like: "why - lee." How CAN they get it wrong?!!!

Though, Heather, rather common name in the 80s that I've noticed is starting to fade into obscurity. And I've also learned there is a masculine west Asian name that sounds similar. "Can you please spell that for me?" "Haddar?" "What is your name, again?" "Hecter?" "Richard?" (I'm not a dude.) "Anna?" Omg.

My dad is German, my mom was Puerto Rican. I am dark Skinned. My name is very German. I’ve been told my entire life that I don’t look like I’d have a name like that. I’ve been told that I’m giving a fake name, that I must be adopted and when dealing with people over the phone or pre internet, I would leave people in shock when they would finally meet me in person!!

When my bother got married him and his new wife were checking into the hotel I was staying at that night. When he spelled out our last name she looked and me and went 'Really?'. I had to inform her she'd be spelling it the rest of her life. She didn't believe it when we had told her before because it's not a complicated last name.
