My D&D character died. In my defense, I was PMSing really bad, it was the very first session with that character (and I’d written a whole two page long backstory for her), and it’s was completely my brother’s fault. I mean, we absolutely could have just walked right by those guards but NOOOO you just HAD to set off your ever-smoking bottle. SMH. But it turned out ok, I healed myself and then promptly stole some of his HP.

Disney songs. Sometimes I just listen to "Colors in the Wind" from Pocahontas and "Strangers Like Me" from Tarzan and tears flow out.

Since I was pregnant with my first child, most Disney songs makes me cry. I try my best to not let it happen but it is very difficult. And when we are at events for the kids there is usually Disney songs playing. I f-ing hate that!

I cried in the theater at the end of "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan".

( Do I need to worry about "spoiling" the ending of a 22 year old movie? Let's just say that for all those memes about people asking, "Kirk or Picard?", I always firmly answer "Spock". )

I wouldn't say it's dumb, but I cry about books a lot. And the books that make me cry aren't necessarily sad, either.

I've cried over a fish that I got that died. I didn't even have it for 2 days. I was in 4th grade and my parents got it for me after seeing how "responsible" I was when I got straight A's.

The Hallmark commercial where the elderly man shuffles out to his mailbox only to find it empty. Big tears.

Driving to work early in the morning, it was dark, I hit something in the road; I wasn't sure what it was, but I was kind of in shock so I just kept going to work, but I had *convinced* myself it was a dog. I was crying on and off all day thinking I'd hit a dog with my car.

Drove home after work, went past the area where I hit the thing...

It was a bag of trash.

This is really stupid but I cried when Lt Tasha Yar from Star Trek The Next Generation died. Even wrote about it on my diary. I think the worst thing is that she died when the episodes weren't as good as they got seasons later.

Here’s a dumb one: I cried because Alan Alda isn’t my dad.

My dad left when I was two and I never saw him again. I had few male role models growing up, but idolized Alan Alda. First on M*A*S*H*, then later in the movies, and eventually as the host of Scientific American Frontiers. Then he was on 30 Rock.

Alec Baldwin’s character had always wanted to know his dad, and when he got emotional upon finding out that Alan Alda’s character was his father, I started crying. My girlfriend asked what was wrong, and, knowing I’d idolized him, I said, “I want Alan Alda to be *my* dad!” 😭

My girlfriend was very sweet and gave me a big hug, and then we laughed that an episode of 30 Rock made me cry.
