A lot of people have near-death experiences. What's yours?

A drunk guy crashing into my house at 60 miles per hour. Stopped inches away from my head.

Okay, I have two. One time I was riding on a bike with my dad and sister. We were crossing a crosswalk when a big truck came barrelling down the road. The person it slammed on their brakes just in time so we weren't hit. The second time, I was watching a show eating nerds and I laughed at one point, causing a few nerds to fly to my throat. I was able to breathe at first, but then the nerds moved while I tried to cough them out and I couldn't breathe at all anymore. My dad almost has to heimlich me, but when he pulled me up and adjusted his arms to do so he lodged the nerds out of my throat and I was able to cough them up. The second experience was humiliating and terrifying because, well, I almost got killed by candy.

I was walking and rubbing my eyes at the same time in my house, and there just happened to be a cobra on the carpet. I didn't see it since my eyes were closed, but it hissed at me because my foot touched it!! We called the fire brigade and they took the cobra away. Wow

Whenever I was born. My mom was in labor with me for 27 hours and tried to have me naturally before they just said f*** it we're just gonna cut it out. I wasn't breathing and I had little to no heartbeat when I was (finally) born and I had to be resuscitated and it literally almost killed both me and my mom. I won't go into detail about the things that occurred after I was born because it's genuinely disgusting for some people and I don't want to gross people out.

Went to a pool party, I was in the deep(er) end, I could touch the ground, but I hit a downward bump, I couldn’t get out, I hopped desperately to get air, I was running out of it quickly, corner of my eyes was blacking out, I settled down, hopping still, but not flailing anymore, I sorta accepted fate then my mother saw me, one of my fathers friends kinda pushed me to the shallower parts, and well, I survived!

I was a toddler and we were visiting my dad's relatives in a neighbouring country. I was obsessed with birds and the minute we got out of the car, I saw a bird statue and started screaming "birdie birdie" and I started running towards it. It wasn't a very busy street, very less foot traffic as well, but a car was coming down our way. I was already away from my parents and right in its path when a stranger grabbed hold of me right in time. My parents claim the stranger disappeared after helping and they call him my guardian angel. But I think they were too busy hugging me and telling me off to notice him walk away. Either way, I'm still here.

Another time, it was another family trip. We were in a complete mountainous (in the Himalayas) area and were heading home. It was a 2 week road trip and we had a hired driver who was driving us in a rented car. Not even 5 hours after we started from our hotel, we were stuck in a long line of traffic in the middle of nowhere , surrounded by mountains. News was that the roads ahead were destroyed from the previous rains and would take time to be up and running. Our driver suggested we stay and wait it out. My dad insisted we drive back the 5 hour trip to the city and stay there. The driver kept trying to convince us saying the roads could possibly open in another few hours or the very next day and we would have to drive all the way back. He thought we should spend the night in the car. My mom has claustrophobia and a back problem so we put our foot down and said drive us back. When we got back in the evening, our hotel was fully booked but they helped us locate a guesthouse. We woke up the next day to news that there was a massive cloud burst and several landslides in the city as well in the mountains. If we would have stayed back, our car could have been washed away with some of the others. We were stranded in the city for the next 11 days and we had to abandon the car and fly out eventually. Around 300 died and some were never found.

I was 9yrs old back then, when there was a terrorist attack on the police force headquarters closer to our school, then opposite another school and a gas stations. Everyone's car glass mirrors shattered in the station , the other school's wall practically rip off into two, thankfully my school had a mini earthquake due to the bomblast , so i was in the library I didn't realize i was on the floor with books all over.

My dad is a race car driver and sometimes when he gets road rage he'll pull some cool moves. Well, one time this guy almost crashed into us so my dad weaved tightly through some cars and the dude missed. We got away from him but he came back in front of us and slammed his car on the brakes. My dad swerved out of the way and the dude crashed some other guy. Police questioned us (we got ticketed) and the whole time this guy was trying to convince the cops that we kept trying to hit him. >:(

Once when i was 6 i went to a water park with my friend and my family. I didn't know how to swim. Yeah you could see where this is going... so there was this slide and i really didn't want to go, but my dad made me go up and told me it was fun. so i went and at the end of the slide he cached me before i went in the water, so that was actually really fun, so i wanted to go again. I went down the slide and my dad wasn't there to catch me. i went under the water. I dont think anybody knew i was drowning and at the time i did not know that you were supposed to hold your breath while in the water. so i was just floating flat and was panicking, i saw someone's legs next to me, i think she was helping another kid off the slide. and eventually my friends dad lifted me up the water and carried me to the platform. apparently my mom saw the whole thing, she said she thought it was another kid playing around. (the whole thing happened in 1 minute which is actually a very long time!) oh well, if my friends dad wasn't there to save me, i think i wouldn't be here today.

Once, when I was about eight, we were hiking and I ran ahead of everyone on the way down. I didn't see a steep slope (it was like 3-4 feet wide or something) and slid down really quickly and almost fell 20+ feet off the side.

A few years ago, I was on a scuba diving trip. All was amazing., as it was my first time diving out in the ocean, rather than a pool or quarry.

Well, during one of the dives, I ended up diving down to a depth of about 100 feet, exploring a reef. It wasn't until I surfaced that I discovered I was supposed to go into decompression. Though saying I almost died may have been a bit of a stretch, I was very close to developing a dangerous nitrogen sickness and I didn't even know it.

This one is also not super here death but here goes. My mom was doing my hair. I hadn't eaten a lot that day and all of a sudden got really tired and my head hurt. When she was done, she wanted me to take some pics so we could send 2 the fam. I literally felt like i was gonna pass out. I have no clue what it was.

Another one: Cramps. BAD ONES. Don't judge, ok those are hecking painful

Ok THIS ONE is the real deal. I was born 3 months premature, and the doctors were saying that either me or my mom was gonna have 2 die. My mom called my aunt and my aunt was like "no no this child will LIVE" so she fell asleep and had a DREAM of ME, about 5 y o, running through a field. She called out, "ZOE! DONT RUN AHEAD!" Me being the dumbass child i was didn't stop, but that's not actually relevant. Anyways she woke up, called my mom and I was born completely healthy. Zoe Renee Stillwell-Taylor. The hyphen because Stillwell is from my mom's side and dumb Taylor is from my shitty dad's side. DO NOT I mean DO NOT take out the hyphen. My mom's side hates my father. Why? That's a whole nother story i actually DO care to elborate in possibly another post of "Ask Pandas". OH! I forgot 2 mention the both of us lived. Although my mom died 5 years ago.

not really almost dead but I felt like I'm dying rn. So this was pre- Covid. I was kind of sick ( lot of coughing involved) and my doctor prescribed me a medicine but didn't told me how to use it and WHAT NOT TO DO. So I took a pill and didn't thought much of it. Thought it's something like Ibu. Fast forward that night I went to a party and had 1 shot of tequila. Minutes later I feld dizzy and collapsed. At the dancefloor. Turns out the alcohol in combination the the pill I took makes morphine! So yeah I was so drugged I don't remember getting home. Moral of the story... Don't drink or go out when you took a pill you don't know. Or don't take pills you don't know

When I was in 2nd grade I got a really bad infection, I went septic, and that was a really bad time. It took a while for me to get back to my normal self.

I had another time where a guy grabbed me through my car window and I knew the minute he touched me that if he got me out of my car I was going to get raped and murdered. I can't adequately describe the evil that seemed to pour off of him. I slammed on my gas as he tried to pull me out of the car. The dude was so freaking strong he got me half out of the window before he finally lost his footing. I almost wrecked into another car but I managed to jerk the wheel in time and flew out of there like a bat outta hell. I was shaken up for days after that.

I was scuba diving for the first time into the sea for open water license.
Checked all my equipment and also got them checked by the instructor.

When reached turning point, regulator at the oxygen bottle just busted and when I saw the gauge it was reading zero.

I was in panic and so was my buddy.

Thankfully (and luckly) the instructor used the one having 2 masks so he let me use the other.
Ended up using less oxygen than others!

My family and I went on a trip to Costa Rica a year back, and we had hired a driver for a 3 hour drive to this small town where my mom had stayed at during college. The town was a lengthy climb up a mountain, so it, of course, was a little nerve racking. We reached this steep slope where we had to drive up, and at the top of it, was a stop sign. So naturally, the driver stopped. Well, he couldn't get the car to start going again because of the steepness of the mountain. The car slowly slid back down the mountain inch by inch, and at the bottom, was a cliff basically. We all decided to get out of the car as quickly as possible, while our driver was still in there. He put on the brakes and some local people helped us put rocks underneath the tires to stall the fall. It was scary.

I was with my 2 bffs (at the time), and we were swimming in one of their pools. One of my bffs went upstairs to take a shower, so me and my other bff were jumping in couple more times, and she was playing around, shoved me underwater. I was aught off guard so i accidentally inhaled a bunch of saltwater. I basically threw up on her grass, and i had a headache after that. Not near death but scared the s*** outta me and sure messed up my brain a little after that.
