Hey Pandas, What’s That Food You Love But Everyone Else Thinks Is Weird? (Closed)
Tell me the weirdest, most absurd foods you love that we should try.

I drink pickle juice. Like, not that fancy stuff with electrolytes for energy and stuff. I mean that when I'm done with a jar of pickles I will chug that c**p!
It's really just salt, water, and vinegar. Certainly opens up your nasal passages.
Peanut butter and honey on lightly-toasted whole grain bread. That's Heaven right there.
My friend eats PB and syrup sandwiches. My cousin eats PB and marshmallow fluff sandwiches
Canned tuna, mayonnaise, and pickle chips (cut up pickles not pickle flavored Pringles)
Olives
Cream cheese tortilla wrap. Let’s just say my friends thing I’m a weirdo…
Best with thinly sliced cucumber added. Roll the whole thing, cut into small rolls. <3 birthday tradition in my family
Octopus shushimi
I have two. Alligator and frog's legs. Not "weird" to everyone, but in the Northeast US they are!
Not a food but food combo
So when get Wendy's I get chicken nuggs and a frosty. I always dip my nuggs in my frosty. So many people thing it's weird af but it's REALLY GOOD. please try it before you judge
Raw potato.... I always snack on it while I'm cutting it up to cook and then I get looked at like I grew an extra head.....
Brussel sprouts
We love Brussels Sprouts. Eat them several times a week. Not sure why you got downvoted so I upvoted.
Broccoli with melted cheese and ketchup
Celery and peanut butter
so many choices for me here! i guess it would be steak tartare would be one. the other would be octopus salad - either italian style or asian.
I've never been able to do raw beef. I used to do raw fish/seafood but then I couldn't do that either starting in my early 20's. It's not the taste or texture, it's this fear of germs/parasites.
Broccoli on pizza.
Fried chicken with mustard.
Bonus: I like to mix everything on my plate together :P
You'd love where I grew up--we have what's called a garbage plate and it's basically everything thrown together on a plate. There's a ton of different kinds but I'd say the most popular is burgers/hot dogs (you can also do fried chicken!) on top of mac salad, some form of potato (frebch fries, hash browns etc) and baked beans, and then there's usually a meat sauce, mustard, ketchup on top of the whole thing. My personal favorite is the grilled cheese plate! Sounds disgusting to most ppl but it is SO good 😁!
Chips and chocolate spread. My brother is especially weirded out by that
Good and Plenty or anything with black licorice.
Tofu. People who say they don’t like it generally never had it before, or ate it overcooked or without a marinade and/or a sauce.
Marinade, cook properly, optional sauce, yummmmm…!
Cheddar cheese and grape jam on white bread sandwiches. I've been eating them since I was a child. When anyone questions me about them I tell them it's my version of wine and cheese.
Fruit and cheese has been a classic combination for at least a couple centuries now.
I like banana and cheese on toast
It would depend entirely on what kind of cheese. Maybe a nice Muenster.
Softly scrambled eggs with anchovies. Yum!
I'm gonna try this. I like scrambled eggs and I REALLY like anchovies. A pizza ain't a pizza without them. Where I live very few pizza joints have anchovies! Can you believe it?!!?
Lemon and sugar on pancakes
Or chicken crimpys with butter on bread
Have you tried making a lemon glaze for your pancakes? It's not an icing, but a glaze which means it's more liquid. I melt some butter with lemon juice and add in powdered sugar a tablespoon at a time until I have the taste I want while it's still liquid like. I use a pastry brush or basting brush to spread it on my pancakes after I take them out of the pan.
Thin-crust chicken alfredo pizza w/ spinach and bacon
Peanut Butter and Dill Pickle sandwiches. My sister got me hooked on them when I was a kid. Now my daughter eats them too, but everyone else in the family thinks we are weird!
I LOVE these! I also add dill pickles to my grilled cheese sandwiches.
I actually like anchovies on my pizza
Natto - fermented soy beans. It’s Japanese and even Japanese people (not all) hate it.
Toasted shrimp sandwiches dressed with mayonnaise and cocktail sauce, and pickles on the side.
This kinda reminds me of the shrimp patties I make! Cook up shelled and de-veined shrimp however you like, cool, then in a food processor pulse them until broken up, then add some olive oil (splash), mayo, lemon juice, salt, pepper, parsley, dill and cocktail sauce. Pulse until fully combined. Beat up an egg, add some bread crumbs, then combine it all. Chill in the fridge for 1 hour, then form into patties. Can bake or pan fry. Can serve as a sandwich or in a lettuce wrap, on top of a salad, etc.
forgot to add, I also eat just shredded mozzarella cheese, like nothing added to it, just that, my grandmother thought it was the weirdest thing ever
I like to mix up everything on my plate and eat it that way. One time we were having Easter dinner and I mixed up my turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, and beets. My Dad looked at my plate and told me to eat in the other room. Must have been the beets.
Yikes!! I couldn't.. even.. nope. I used to be really bad in that I didnt like my stuff touching at all. I'd eat all of one item, then the next and so on till done. A family member noticed and made fun of me for it so I got mathematical.. 1 bite of this, 2 bites of that then back for 1 bite etc... It was all thought out and it bugged me, but being called weird by my grandfather was worse.
My favorite pizza topping combo is pineapple, olives and mushrooms! All together!
Hot Dr. Pepper with a slice (or wedge) of lemon.
SPAM musubi, SPAM and Rice with eggs, Crispy fried SPAM sandwich with mayo, tomato and lettuce... SPAM.. lol..
Pickle and cheese sandwich. Wisconsin sharp cheddar and kosher dill pickle slices on rye bread. Smear of mustard on one slice of bread and a light smear of mayo on the other. It's good on white bread but it's better on rye.
I love liqorice! Most people I know, hate it.
I not only detest licorice, but also anything that remotely tastes like licorice...fennel, caraway, anise, etc.
Onion rings and ranch dressing. My family find it a weird combo, but I like it.
Hear me out,
Sliced cucumbers, with a little bit of ketchup, topped with cheddar cheese.
It’s surprisingly delicious!
Vanilla ice cream and peanut butter! Chocolate syrup and peanut butter, basically anything with peanut butter….
Also lays potato chips and ketchup- tastes like fries.
My grandmother used to love vanilla ice cream with peanut butter and wheat germ.
not really weird but I eat my Mcdonald's french fries with a plane sundae, holy s**t that c**p is amazing, I've been having it since I was four.
I used to get a chocolate shake at the AW and dip my french fries in it, starting at 4 yrs old.
Strawberries make everything better. Sald, meat, fish, sandwich. Everything is better with strawberries
I looove to dunk my ham (or salami) and cheese sandwich on my latte or chocolate milk. With a little touch of mayonaise in it. Not too much, to avoid oily spills if the beverage is hot. Yummy!
Dark toast and apple sauce. I cut my toast slices in half then dip them in a bowl of apple sauce. Bonus points if the apple sauce has cinnamon
I used to make onion pies as the main dish; they are great served hot or cold.
Mayo instead of ketchup: I love dipping my fries in it and my husband eats his hamburgers with it.
Garlic. Recipe: 2 cloves. Me: Oh okay, I'll put 5.
Our youngest son used to eat raw onion instead of apples as a snack.
Our oldest son loves fish heads. I think he cooks them before he eats them.
Our daughter likes anything dainty.
Jam. Zucchini and peach is my favorite.
PB: I love to eat it with celery but I also scoop it out the jar with a spoon.
Fresh croissant dipped in either hot chocolate or coffee with some Brie on the side.
Yogurt soup and parsley salad.
Apart from the raw onions I would love having dinner in your house
I snack on feta stuffed olives while having my morning coffee
i love feta-stuffed olives, but i cannot eat olives either way!
Marmite and peanut butter on toast.
Apparently Marmite has been banned in multiple places. I can't remember why, though.
Ketchup and turkey sandwiches. Nothing else. Just bread, ketchup, and turkey slices. It's pretty great!
Peanut butter chedder cheese & mayo..... Best sandwich EVER
Huh, never had this, sounds interesting! One of the sandwiches I make, I add grape jam or jelly (lightly) if I make a bologna sandwich with cheese, lettuce and pickles.
Sliced cucumbers dipped in Sweet Baby Ray’s Bar B Que sauce. It cannot be understated.
I drink Sweet Baby Ray's straight from the bottle. That stuff is addictive!
Bacalao-salted cod fish sautéed with onions and boiled ñame! It’s Puerto Rican and my children think it’s disgusting.
In Portugal we have a 1001 recipes with Bacalhao....The national dish !
Pickles and peanut butter. Also used to love pineapple on pizza but I'm allergic to pineapple so i can't have that no more. Also, camel curry is 👌 delicious
Camel curry is intriguing me. I really wanted to try camel burgers in central Australia when I was there for a school camp, but they cost almost $30 and I am very stingy with my money :)
Coffee+chocolate premade protein shake. It is healthier than adding creamer and sugar yet adds lots of flavor.
peanut butter and jelly and cheese sandwiches
I swear it's amazing
I like to dip a plain lettuce sandwich (just lots of lettuce on buttered bread, that's it) in my bowl of chili. Simple, crunchy and delicious!
I like to sip on pho broth. No ingredients, I just order the broth, and sip on it for hours.
Marshmallow and Strawberry jam sandwich. Yep. Take bread, apple jam and sprinkle marshmallows on top. It’s heaven
Cow’s tongue. My mom cooked one once or twice and I remember having so much fun taking sandwiches to school! So great that when I had kids I made sure I cooked one for them. They were not as impressed. Very rich meat. But they are much more expensive now. I think they are a more common food in an immigrant population here in Alabama.
My mom cooked cow's tongue for my dad a lot. He tried to get her to taste it but she refused to eat anything that came out of a cow's mouth, so he told her to have an egg!
I eat cream of mushroom soup with tuna in it. Everybody that I tell think its disgusting.
King's Hawaiian bread dipped in dill veggie dip and pears with cottage cheese.
the kings hawaiian in dill dip sounds good, and i love pears, but i CANNOT with cottage cheese. it has the texture of vomit to me
I really enjoy sour veal spleen (venetian style). But I also love Haggis - if you don't think too much about the ingredients it's a really tasty dish.
Domino's chicken wings with their cinnamon sauce. Not great reheated, but amazing when fresh
Bacon, tomato, peanut butter and mayonnaise on toasted bread...AKA, the best sandwich IN THE WORLD!
I love all those ingredients, but can't sanction peanut butter mixing with mayo.
I used to mix condensed milk with powdered milk... Now I'm lactose intolerant 😓
Ice cream float made with orange sherbet, grape gatorade, and 7up. Also seasoned fries covered in melted pepperjack and dipped in bourbon sauce.
Scrambled egg Korma. I basically make a decent portion of scrambled eggs and the pour one of those ready made curry sauces over the top. People are usually really grossed out when I tell them about it but it’s one of my favourite meals
Buttermilk with a little salt.
Make a salat with vinegar and oil dressing and make some pancakes 🥞. Put Nutella on the pancakes and then the salat dripping with dressing, roll it, eat it.
The sweet and salty mix together perfectly. Sounds disgusting but taste's delicious 😋
Huh, never tried this! I do love sometimes putting salad on my pizza though! Make a salad with vinegar and oil, salt and pepper, then spoon on top of a slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza.
Pasta and hummus. Like, plain, unsauced rigatoni (big tube pasta), dipped in hummus like you'd dip a chip in guac or something. If you like both pasta and hummus, I recommend it, it's better than you'd expect!
Ooh, I've never done that! I've thinned out hummus to add to my pasta before though and really loved that.
1. Right out of the can Van Camp's pork n beans on a paper plate. Chasing them around with a piece of light bread.
2. Cold BBQ ( pork butt) right out of the fridge with mayonnaise, and lots of mayonnaise.
3. Mayonnaise and saltine crackers. My go-to snack food.
I love beans on toast, bean sandwiches, etc. I hear you! Have you ever tried cold BBQ pork butt mixed in with cooked and drained Ramen noodles, scrambled eggs, with a light splash of olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt and pepper? Love that too!
American cheese with a thin layer of peanut butter. My go-to low/no carb snack.
Mashed potatoes with pickles OR pork roll with cheese (Jersey food) with pineapple… hot sauce & maple syrup combo is good too
You should try chicken and waffles topped with maple syrup and hot sauce. The salty, sweet, hot combo is amazing.
turkey tails. I have to special order them here in MN but in Hawai'i they are pretty common, and I got hooked on them.
My grandfather loooooooved those. He'd always say that he wanted "the part that went over the fence last". I still call it that too this day.
German chocolate cake (Dad's side of the family) topped by pinto beans (Mom's side of the family).
Ketchup on eggs. Scrambled? Ketchup. Cheese omelet? Ketchup. Also, chili cheese fries? Drown them in ketchup. I eat ketchup til I get vinegar sweats.
Peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. I made fun of my mom (are you pregnant??) when I first saw her eating one, so she made me try one. Now I’m hooked. She loves to get me back by yelling ‘Are you pregnant??’ when she catches me.
Spam anything. Spam in ramen, spam sandwiches, spam and eggs, plain fried spam. Love it. My SoCal friends do NOT understand.
Also I’m addicted to Taco Bell/ Del Taco hot sauce on everything. I ask for extra sauce packets every time I go, and I put it in wraps, sandwiches, on omelets (if I mix it with ketchup), on pizza, in ramen.
Not me but my cousin- Fried Rice with lotsa ketchup. It looks disgusting and smells weird but my cousin thinks it's delicious.🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Custard on cornflakes.
That makes a complete breakfast since custard provides Eggs, sugar and milk
Mash potato sandwiches 😅 with warm potato not cold, i make a sandwich with it
Kraft dinner with salted chips cucumber and red pepper all mixed together
My mother used to make macaroni and cheese with crushed potato chips on top. Delicious!
Vanilla wafers and French onion dip! My favorite treat!
Peanut butter on salami roll ups. So good. Also with cream cheese is yummy.
Chocolate Chip cookies dipped in Orange Juice. I've meet other that like this combo too
Horse! I come from a country where it's widely accepted without a second thought, and it is delicious!
I've tried it and had no objection to it, but in US, it's generally not well received.
Cottage cheese with maple syrup.Try it, it is delicious. There are a lot listed that I eat. yum
Should be good. I eat cottage cheese with beets every time we go to Mandarin (American/Chinese buffet restaurant).
I love Brussel sprouts and lima beans. Hot with butter and dash of salt
Blood-sausage sliced and fried in butter, eat with cold apple-mash sprinkled with cinnamon...delicious !!
I haven't had any blood sausages in probably 40 years. My dad and I were the only ones who would eat them in the house (of 7 people).
Load More Replies...Lunch meat ham with cream cheese spread on it and then wrap it around a pickle, it's heavenly
Can confirm! This was my go-to snack as a teenager.
