Hey Pandas, What’s Something Someone Did Or Said Recently That Made You Think, ‘Seriously’? (Closed)
Last night, my two oldest children were complaining about AI and its effect on society. My oldest said "I hate AI!" and while I agree with her, I couldn't help but say "Lost Panda Jr., you use AI everyday." She turns, looks at me, and states "I never use AI!" Now, the part that made me think 'seriously?!' was not two minutes after saying this she utters the phrase "Siri, turn on low power mode." I couldn't help but shake my head and laugh. So, what about you?

A country elected a president who sent a mob to attack his own capital when he lost a previous election. He'd also created slate of fake electors to try and steal that election. Seriously?
I have no words....why would a democratic country knowingly vote in a dictator and proven liar?
1) Upping the volume of copy-pasted reddit threads.
2) Drastically increasing pop-up ads
3) Going to a subscription tier.
4) All within the last couple months.
Seriously???
Turning an upbeat site with an international, generally optimistic world view into a Premium savagely unhinged rancid tabloid with narrow US-centric negative hyperbolic sensationalism.
I did, on here, get a reply to one of my comments going "Are you not from the States or do you live under a rock?" Totally unnecessary and rude for one. Completely unhinged, for sure. Very narrow, USA centric mentality.
Load More Replies...yeah, this site isn't worth paying for. Not when we know the content comes from a free source, and is presented here in a cluttered way. Buzzfeed did very much the same thing, but they eventually graduated into making NEW content from their sources and then just making their own content. BP out here trying to charge for other people's free words and all BP did was screenshot them and drop them into a template.
I still love BP and I am one of the rare users who enjoys Reddit reposts (probably because Reddit is blocked on my Google), but I agree some of the changes they're making are stupid. Like the whole subscription thing. Why? Just why?
wtf does "Reddit is blocked on my google" mean? Do you not understand what a url is?
Load More Replies...Well, they had to do *something* to top their previous "let's censor even the most innocuous of words" policy.
People backing the guy (Luigi) that shot the United Healthcare CEO because he's " Hot". If they can prove he did this he needs to go to jail. I understand having issues with health insurance, I have had themself but thinking he should be aquitted of murder because he is " Hot" is next level. I see how Ted Bundy lured people. Yikes
There not asking to have him acquitted because he’s hot, they’re just praising his actions because he did the world a public service
The entire it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission mentality. My DIL says this & she is almost 40.Grow up & be a responsible adult
Some guy close to JFK in the United States is trying to get the FDA to revoke approval for the polio vaccine. I mean, it's so insane, that there are no words, really.
I recently heard someone claim they couldn't be held responsible for something they did unless they admitted they did it intentionally.
Welp. Hope they don't mess up too bad. A judge will give them a lesson of their lifetime.
Thought that taking a screenshot and sending it to me would show the huge CRACK IN HIS (phone) SCREEN 🤪
LOL Why do I feel like I have done something like that? (Rhetorical question.)
One of my colleagues, Lucy, has an identical twin, Kate. One day Kate visited her sister at work, and Lucy said something like: Happy Saint's Day! (We, in Czech, celebrate our name days.)
So I figured that today's saint patron is Catherine, and after a while I asked: "Lucy, if today's saint's day is Kate, and you're identical twins, it's your saint's day too, LUCY?"
So she spent about one endless minute expaing me that this is not how twins work, and when she got to the point that they share the same birthday, but not the saint's day, I finally could wonder: "Seriously?"
When the current Kennedy ran for office and the press adressed the fact that he had brainworms in the past, the communication coordinator said something to the effect that it was irrelevant that Kennedy had pieces of his brain eaten, because the other kandidates where really old.
If someone prays to a god of some description for relief from a trauma of some kind, was it not the god who caused the trauma in the first place?
I'm a substitute teacher. I think "Seriously?" whenever a student doesn't come to class with a pencil. One of my sayings is "School 101 kids, bring a pencil to class every day!"
When my brother- in- law caught covid, my now departed MIL tried multiple times to find lodging for HERSELF so darling BIL wouldn't have to leave their home (they lived together). First she tried to go stay in her niece's home so she could "spend time" with her senile sister, who was being cared for by the niece. She hadn't seen or spoken to her in at least 2 years, even though they lived in the same town. Next, she wanted to go stay with MY sister, whom she barely knew ("it's family, she won't mind"). And then to top it off, she wanted me to go stay with my next door neighbor, whom she disliked intensly, for no good reason, so she could stay with MY family. When my husband told her that this wasn't going to happen because it was a ludicrous idea and also because she had been a such a b***h to me behind his back, her response was "then it would be good time for the two of us to mend fences". He saw right through that and told her no way. She was foiled at every turn. Finally, my husband made my dumbasss BIL get a hotel room, but it was a uphill battle to get him there. In the meantime, with all the bullshiit back and forth for a whole two days, asss face BIL infected her. Can't say I felt bad for either of them.
Sorry for the length of this. Nothing my MIL ever did was explainable in a few sentences. Plus, I don't journal - BP (sometimes) tends to stand in as my diary.
It's a small annoyance compared to others' problems, but:
Just yesterday, I went shopping for a new tablet, a specific model (metal case, not plastic) with high end specs. They had none in stock, I said, "No problem, how long will it take to order one?" and they told me it would take a week.
Then they asked for money.
"Excuse me?" I said.
"You have to pay up front before we order."
Like hell, as I told him. I took my business elsewhere. Definitely getting a negative review.
