When I was in my early 20's I read a book called "Find Your Own Truth" and it was really good. So good that I started using it as my philosophy and tagline when posting on local BBS's...

I have to say this dialogue prompt:
    “Everything is fine”
*in their head*: everything is not, indeed, fine.

Uhhh, this is kinda long and a little dark but it was the first thing that came to mind. So yeah!!! Fair warning, it’s dark, don’t read it if you can’t handle that... it was the concept of this drug like thing, that filled on with nothing but bliss. A villain captured Hero, and the person Hero loves most. They’re both tied up in different rooms, but can see each other. Villain has Hero hooked up to the Bliss thing.. and all Hero has to do for more is push a button. A button that gives them more, but also hurts their loved one. My messed up mind had so many fun daydreams with the one!!! Do they mindlessly do it, or do they somehow resist the bliss, and if they do what does Villain do about that. Looking at all the other entries this seems sorta out of place but... it was my first thought

I’m not sure who it’s from but it’s inspired me. “Stop making psychosis & insanity a villain trait challenge”

I've posted these elsewhere today, and I made these up, but I thought y'all might like them. I thought of these after seeing Avagar 2 for the second time.

    Science fiction prompt:
Aliens come to earth. They are peaceful. Humans don't know that so they destroy the one ship that came. After studying and integrating the alien tech they salvaged, humanity is feeling extremely confident. They begin to spread to the rest of the solar system, advancing their technology even further. 1 year after the Moon is completely terraformed, entire planets start disappearing. Humans, perplexed, decide to investigate. Turns out, it was just the shadow of a ship. The aliens returned. They wanted revenge. So they brought only 1 military instalation that's about 4 times as big as the sun. That's them being nice. Humanity is f****d and there's nothing they can do but run.

    Fantasy prompt:
Humans and bipedal animals coexist together peacefully. Technology is advancing further than ever before due to the animals' magic. Humans realize that magic can be harvested from life and begin harvesting it from everything. Even the other sentient species on the planet. War breaks put with humanity supposedly winning, but that's when the very ocean starts splitting, revealing ancient powers with such power incomprehensible to anything ever thought possible. Again, humanity is f****d and there is nothing they can do about it.

I'm not much of a fantasy person, or a sci-fi for that matter. I love the science fiction one though. I would totally read that

I like a lot of them, but my personal favorite is to take a movie/show you enjoy, and rewrite the ending so that it becomes dark. (If you were to write about Encoanto, for example, you could say that they never rebuilt the house, or even that one of the characters died somewhere along the way.) If the movie/show you pick already ends badly, you could either try to make it worse, or write it in a way that ends nicely.
