I'm getting annoyed by a lot of euphemisms that have been becoming popular. So, let's hear everyone's complaints on the subject.

'Season' or 'Seasons' being used to describe winter.
Such as, when someone says 'Holiday season'. Well, the seasons during which I like to go on holiday are Spring and Summer.
Or writes 'Seasons greetings'... Seasons, plural? Are these greetings from Autumn as well as Winter?
I know, I know, I'm nitpicking. And I know you meant 'Season's greeting', but then that could be used any time of year, because it is always a season.

ooh the proverbs/sayings/idioms (i never know the difference) always get me. the modern versions never get the full saying, fo example:
"Blood is thicker than water" used to be "blood of the covenant is thicker than water of the womb"
"the early bird gets the worm..." has the addition "...but the second mouse gets the cheese"
    and
"Birds of a feather, flock together" is missing "...until the cat comes"

and most of these turn out to mean exactly the opposite once you have the full saying!

As a graphic design students, we had to learn the names of the different parts of letters. That dot in the letters i and j?

    It's called a jot.

    a JOT.
