My parents track everything I do, so I came up with a solution. I created a language of 36 letters and write s**t about them everyday. They always hint to it like “oh what’s that language mean again?” Or “it’s not like we’re gonna read it.”

That I secretly have this account, a YouTube, another account on a writing website (not a social one but still banned), and a Discord (to talk with old friends). I'm completely banned from any form of social media, even though I'm legally old enough to use it without parental controls.

I have a few youtube accounts I use for different purposes. I deleted one old account my mom knew about. She just watched my stuff to tell me what I needed to change and what I could and could not upload. I had to tell her straight, as I'm a full on adult with my own kid. Some say a parent's job never ends. But this is not healthy parental boundaries. You shouldn't have to hide anything from your parents, but if you do feel the need to hide, it's because your boundaries have been violated before and you feel your parents don't trust you to make good decisions. You're doing alright. You're not in trouble. You're doing nothing wrong.
