Kinda dark, but if you were able to choose what song/music you would listen to as you left this world, what would it be? Mine would be Verdi's Requiem.

Not quite what you asked but at my uncle's funeral he wrote it in his will that as his casket was being lowered, they had to play 'Another One Bites The Dust'. He was awesome.

Well, as far as requiems go, I prefer Fauré. That's still okay if I'm Jewish, right?

What I'd really like to listen to though, is the doctor telling the nurses that it's just gas, and I'll be fine!

If Nightwish's "Ghost Love Score" (Floor Jansen's version at Wakken) was the last thing I hear I will die very, very, very happily.

Not that anyone's going to know this, but The Remedy (I Won't Worry) by Jason Mraz. It's just a happy song that I've always liked. It isn't my favorite, but I like it, and it would help me feel at peace when I die.

Hmmm....i want to pass away to either "Revenge" (CaptainSparklez) just because, a trumpet fanfare to go out like ✨ royalty ✨, or Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" for the sake of ongoing memes. Oh yeah and I want The Hokey Pokey to be played at my funeral.

I've narrowed it down to 3

"Asleep". A song originally by The Smiths, but I think I prefer the Emily Browning version.

"Breakdown" by Guns 'N' Roses

"Dirty Diana" by Michael Jackson

The second that they pull the plug I’d want them to play Rise Up by Cypress Hill and Tom Morello.

I have 2. 10,000 Reasons by Matt Redmond, it's a Christian worship song. The last verse kept running through my mind as my MIL passed:

"And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore"

#2 is "The Dance" by Garth Brooks.

Njosnavelin (The Nothing Song) - Sigur Ros. I'll never forget hearing it for the first time. I'm a huge fan of scores and it's just one of the best. I also love the Interstellar score by Hans Zimmer. Both such beautiful pieces. MI5 has some pretty pieces, too.

I'd like to say something like "Two Steps From Hell - Magika or Invincible" but in reality I might prefer "Dermot Kennedy - Lost".

All dependent on the situation I guess.

Johann Strauss II’s “The Blue Danube.” It’s just such a joyful piece of music. It never ceases to make me happy. Either that, or the most hilarious piece of music ever recorded, Steve W. Mauldin’s rendition of “O, Holy Night.” Transcendently deranged.

Quiet. Actual quiet. I love music, but it's everywhere at all times now and you never get to NOT listen to music, so I'd really enjoy the absence of it.
