Male here who came out as bisexual when I was 19. I shared an apartment with my three best friends. All three stopped talking to me & ended our friendship. They asked me to move out & find a replacement, which wasn’t easy since I suddenly now had to find new place of my own. It wrecked me emotionally because, well…they were my friends. But by coming out I was honest with myself & honest with them. I’ve never been mad at them, but disappointed. We never spoke again & this was years ago. I hope that they’ve grown to be more accepting & come to the understanding that in the end, the only thing that came from any of this was that we all lost wonderful friendships & great times…unnecessarily.

So… I’m 5’ 2”… pretty short, right? Well it was at least short among my peers. Among my peers, it was pretty easy to join a friend-group. All you had to do was walk into the group and join the conversation… that’s pretty easy, right? But, I was one of the shortest (and quietest). For me I always felt left out. I tried to join a friend-group, but the circle was always closed to me for some reason. I never, ever, did anything to make anyone mad, I guess I was just to short. I raised my voice a few times, but was quickly pushed out of the circle. To be real with you guys, it still happens even as an adult.

Thank you for letting me vent out my feelings, @foofoofloofy 🥹

Tall people die earlier than short people due to spine compression. You have an opportunity. Go to their future graves and say “Who’s under 6ft now a*****e?”

When I was 10 & 11, I did group horseback riding lessons with 3 other girls, all Girl Scouts. Even though I was the best rider (by FAR,) they slowly convinced me how terrible I was at everything. They would giggle every time I made the smallest mistake. There was this one girl, let's call her Donna. She was a f*****g NIGHTMARE. She would play mean pranks on me. Once, she put a fly spray label on a bottle of showsheen (a product used to make a horse's coat shiny,) and slipped it into my tack box. My pony was so uncomfortable and was tossing her head. By then I had realized that the instructor always believed Donna's word against mine, so I just said I had forgotten to fly spray.
TL;DR: I rode horses with some mean girls, one of which played mean pranks on me and my pony.

To clarify, they were all taking lessons for a stupid G-Scout thing. I don't think any of them liked it a bit. Why not make it fun by picking on the outsider?

Husband and I used to double date with another couple and had “fun-ish” times. She worked at another library at the time, and I considered her my best work friend. Eventually, she transferred to my branch, and then her husband left her for another girl. After that, my so-called friend got really sick and bitter about everything. I tried to be there for her until she started criticizing my husband and my marriage. My husband is my best friend so that didn’t go over well. Since my “politics” didn’t mesh with hers, she told me everyone thought I was dirty, unsafe and unkempt. I was crying every day after work so it was a great relief when she transferred yet again. I have not talked to her since she left almost a year ago, and no one else misses her.

I have a lot but for some reason this is the only one I can think of.

So in first grade there was this girl, let's call her Anna. Well, Anna and I used to be sort of friends, both annoying each other a lot sometimes and getting along other times. In first grade my teacher would let us do weekly show and tells. One week I decided to bring some Elsa stuff because I believe Frozen had just come out. One thing I brought was an Elsa doll with really pretty blue shoes. So I finished my show and tell and I put the doll in my cubby, then we go continue with the school day. At the end of the day I go back to my cubby and grab my doll and see that her shoes were missing. I then frantically search the cubby area and don't find them. Then this new girl who I'd never heard talk comes up to me and tells me Anna has them and it saying their hers. Anna and I then get into a fight and she says something like "My mom bought just the shoes for me. They're not yours!" And then she leaves the classroom and I never see them again.
TL;DR: A girl stole my Elsa doll's shoes and claimed her mother bought them for her, then left, and I never saw them again.

Broke up with my now most recent ex and then his friend who was one of my best friends, texted me in the middle of class and told me to meet them by the athletic commons. She ambushed me and when I saw the ex, I ran to the bathroom so he couldn't come but my friend could. So she just waited for me to come out. I REALLY didn't want to leave, but I had to go cuz I only had 5 minutes on hall passes and if you had more then you were marked absent. So I left and she was like, "just talk to him" b***h I broke up with him like the night before. I need time. Didn't say that. Said "best friends don't ambush each other then I ran back to class and told her the f**k off pretty much and then the guy started texting me and I gave my phone to my now partner and said say whatever you want to him. She told him to f**k off and to leave me alone and to never text me again. The friend ambushed me again to try and talk to him he touched me in the small of my back which I wasn't comfortable. AT SCHOOL. He is also very gay I just refused to see it.

In 2020, I had some toxic friend issues. They’d been straight-up ignoring me and cut off all contact whatsoever. I had no idea what I had done. The day school was canceled for us, in March, on FRIDAY THE 13TH, a note falls out of my locker from them. It said “we can’t believe we chose you over (snotty ex-friend)” and “we are writing this letter to officially declare that we are no longer friends”. The worst part was, it was in the ringleader’s, let’s call her Carly, handwriting. She even signed our other friends’ names, and I doubt she had their consent. Now, I have new besties who treat me way better :)

There's been a lot, but the most recent is a bunch of popular kids were making fun of the way I was talking to one of them in my Advanced Algebra class. I don't have a lisp or anything, I just talk proper and posh I guess.

IDK, it normally doesn't get to me, but I'm typically pretty invisible to everybody, so it was just kinda hurtful. And then after *loudly* making fun of me one of them asked for the picture I had colored (it was the last day of school, we weren't really doing anything) and asked me why she couldn't have it.

One guy pooped and then peed in front of the class when giving a presentation. In school. And it was weird.

Another time someone sorta… pulled of one of my friends dresses. I caught them luckily.

And another time, one of my friends fell like head over heels for this guy. They became girlfriend and boyfriend. Then someone who liked the boy photocopied pictures of the girl with someone else. The boy saw them and got angry and ended it. Then the girl got angry. And so the girl wanted revenge over her broken heart. So she revealed secrets the boy had trusted her with when they were together (like of how he didn’t agree with his friends but wants too afraid to leave them. And other deeper secrets. And embarrassing and sad and all sorts of secrets). Everyone believed her, and it was sort of the truth. So he was teased every day. Then one day he was attacked. He went to the hospital. The girl visited him since she was still madly in love sorta. Anyway she found out about the photoshopped photos and everything. She found that she had made his life a living hell because of an understanding. And I wish I could end this story with a “and they lived happily ever after,” but that’s all that had happened so far.

Weird but serious question, did the guy just… stand there and look people in the eye and just continue the presentation like nothing happened? Did that happen a lot? Was he labeled the weird kid before or after that incident?

Ok, so as I said in the comments of another one, I’m short and I’m also young for my age. I often worry people see me as a child. This was confirmed in junior high, when these popular girls suddenly started being weird around me. They’d say nice things and argue over who was my “bestie” in sing song voices. It sounded like they were being nice but they were mocking me and kind of saw me as their pet. They have still done it from time to time (high schooler now )but I don’t know h0w to stop them bc I have no proof that they aren’t just being nice besides a gut feeling

This girl I grew up with in school thinks we’re super close and everything but she is the most toxic person I know. Gaslights and manipulates people constantly, talks only about her because she thinks everyone is lower than her, and asks for everyone’s secrets (while never giving out her own) just so she can tell others. And she gets away with it because the authorities don’t see it. Also one of her family members is one of the authorities so even if I try no one would believe me so I have to sit there while getting damaged emotionally every day. (Although its summer break right now… not school)

Mine was when I had to do a group project for my second language class.

We had to create a song using certain words and was happy (then) with my team.

But one person just *lead* the whole thing and didn't even listen to me!

The other person didn't seem to mind and did the brunt of the work.

I was frustrated so I refused to help and they didn't notice until I was crying.

Have you ever felt like you’re in an abusive relationship with a coworker? I thought it was my imagination for months. This girl started working in a department I’d worked in for years. Upon our very first introduction she cut me off mid-sentence when I was talking to a co worker, physically stood in front of me and struck up a convo with the person I’d been talking to. She would name drop an executive’s name and try to tell me the exec wanted me to do something that didn’t make sense. (She was also in a lower position than me and it didn’t make sense that she’d be talking to these executives. Thankfully I never believed her). She would go out of her way to insult me when no one else was around, but when others were around she would act like we were best friends. I am the type that gets along with everyone so it really made me feel bad that me and this girl were just not going to get along. Finally one day another coworker asked if anyone else got a weird vibe from this girl. As we all compared notes we realized she was doing the same thing to all of us. She didn’t last long after that. We all started calling her on her BS. It did unite the rest of the women in the department which is no easy thing…so I guess kudos to her for being so insane that the rest of us had no choice but to unite in order to defeat the common enemy.

It benefited you all (but that does not justify what she did)

This was a while ago in 2020 and everything was going well; I had a BFF, my grades were good and I enjoyed school 😀

My mom was dropping me off and I saw another girl who was new.

The teacher told me to guide her around-- so I did.

We talked and enjoyed!

She sometimes hung out with me and my friends during break but she also liked to have some time to herself.

After I came back from remote learning (I was the last one back), she was POPULAR!

Of course I was happy for her but she stopped hanging out with us and barely talked to us.

I'm so happy I never have to deal with her again ever since I moved.
