This is amazing. Did anyone else notice the terrifying "yet"...? :(

When I was about 8 my sister was building a sand castle and a kid asked if he could knock it over, even though I was mad at my sister I said no because it was hers, and someone told me that it's an important life lesson to remember to respect things that are theirs even if it's just a sand castle there are certain things that we need to respect in the belongings of other people.

Before COVID, I did outreach twice a month every month for 5 years at an assisted living facility. I am not allowed to volunteer yet so some of the residents came to see me at my job. The directors brought 4 residents but told me all 50 or so residents raised their hands when asked who wanted to come see me. I did a lot of crying that day.

This was a over a year ago at the pizza place I was working in. I was the only one waiting tables and and handling the counter, (phone in orders for takeout and delivery), and it was insanely busy from the moment I clocked in. I'm answering 2 phone lines while waiting on several tables. I was having a horrible day. About half way through my 12 hour shift, a woman I was waiting on came up to the counter to pay her check. She waited patiently for me to finish up the order over the phone. I apologized for the wait, and she said 'I need you to listen to me' with a very stern tone. I was a little thrown because she had said everything was great and complimented how well I able to multi task while keeping a smile. Anyway, I nodded and she said "You are amazing, beautiful and intelligent. Always remember that!" And she tipped well. Even if she didn't, I appreciate her kindness. I really needed it. That job was a poorly managed toxic environment. So, from the tattooed waitress from Oreganatos, you're the best! Thanks!

That my freckles were cute. I’ll always remember it because it was at a time I felt horrible about myself.

A face without freckles is like a sky without stars! We have our own personal constellations, and we should own them! 😊

When asked by her therapist who she would most like to be like, my mother said me. Didn't occur to her that she is the one who raised me to be like this

We adopted Brutus Augustus on February 15, 2020 and my job closed a few weeks later for 7 weeks total. I began walking him 2-3 times a day every day. He flourished from a 30 pound emaciated bag of bones to a now strapping 70 pound brute. My neighbor said we were “true miracle workers” the way we loved and took care of our boy.

My son's father has not been involved in his life since he was 6. He will be a senior in college so this is his last summer living at home. He emailed me to say, "I'm excited to work and spend my last summer at home with you!"
