It can be really annoying when people take credit for something you did, when has that happened to you?

I'm kind of quiet and it sucks when I say something and then three seconds later someone says it just a bit louder and everyone agrees with them even though it was my idea. Sometimes they'll give me credit but not often.

I cannot express how angry/frustrated I am about this. And it didn't even happen to me!

Nurses do it every day and doctors get the credit. Every day….

A whole bunch of times! when I was younger, I would draw something or write something, then my brother or sisters would take it from me and show it to our mom and she would think they made it.

I often pass credit onto other people on purpose.

My personality is one where I have to have attention. I also have a good mind for problem solving so often I'm the first one to come up with a solution. Part of my therapy is to 'allow other people to have attention', but if they are not producing the best ideas, I'll give them mine to make going forwards easier for me. Sometimes I have to convince them that it was their idea in the first place.

When I was probably six or seven, I lived in Eureka Montana. It had a Maine street that was basically a huge hill. Two little kids were jumping up and down in a station wagon at the top of the hill and the car started to roll down the hill! I dropped my bike and ran over, got in and had to guess what was the brake peddle. I stopped the car and when the teenage grocery clerk came out he made me get out. He got in and when mom arrived, he took all the credit.
That was more than 65yrs ago and I am still pissed!!!!

That’s nearly each day. But my favorite is when I say something and a week or so later they have an epiphany and parrot it back to me.

I single-handedly organised a charity gala with live music, bar, performers etc. It was quite a big deal even though I do say so myself.

My mate says 'I know [celebrity], shall I ask him to come and officially open it for us?'. Of course, I said yes please.

So, the celebrity turns up and my mate pulls me to one side and says 'I hope you don't mind, but I've told [celebrity] that I organised the event'. Well, I did mind. I'd grafted for weeks putting it all together and my mate turns up with a celebrity and takes all the credit.

I didn't say anything at the time because I wanted the event to go smoothly, but, come on, you're supposed to be my mate.

After 30 years of being alone, I found my love a couple of years ago. He recognizes me for everything I do. I am blessed and I appreciate him a ton.
