Or: who was your favorite musical group or singer from childhood that now embarrasses you? Don't be shy - the OP here was a big Devo fan in his youth!

I'm not ashamed to admit that I love Neue Deutsche Welle (German New Wave, late 70s to mid 80s), but I would still call it a "guilty pleasure" because a lot of people find this kind of music ridiculous and my friends roll their eyes when I insist that e.g. "Major Tom“ (by Peter Schilling) must be played at a party.
There are many fun songs, but there’s political and socially critical stuff, too, especially from the early years, when it was more post-punk.
My guilty pleasure is the music from a Flemish kids TV show #likeme. It takes classic Flemish songs and revives them to a new, modern style.
Even though I don’t have any small kids anymore and don’t watch the show I still like the music
Admittedly, I'm too old to give a sht about what people think of my musical tastes but back in the late 70s / early 80s punk rock years, I definitely hid my love of Kate Bush from everyone..... Certainly not very acceptable in the punk scene, back then!!!
I still jam to 2000s/2010s music. A lot of my friends would call me strange and weird for still liking those songs. "Why don't you listen to someone MODERN for a change?". I do, it's just not as often. Also I love some showtunes every once and a while. I like to listen to Dear Evan Hansen when I'm sad
Alot of people dont believe me when I express my admiration for Electric Light Orchestra. I get it, Im a Metalhead and all but it doesnt make sense to me why I wouldnt like ELO too. Jeff Lynne was a genius!
Metal and Classic Rock are not that far apart, ELO put out some awesome music
did you ever see " The Pirate Movie?" it was a parody based on the pirates of penzance and was a goofy musical with kristy mcnichol and christopher atkins. i was obsessed as a kid and i will still watch this when it's available
