I wanted to be a lawyer for kids. So someone would listen to them. Instead, I learned that college is worth less than TP and I can do whatever I want without it.

Wanted to be a mechanical engineer, or "car maker" as I used to say it, as I really liked (and still do) cars.

I wanted to be a marine biologist. All of my decorations in my bedroom were of marine creatures, particularly dolphins and orcas, and I obsessively read over a children's book about dolphins for years and years. After that, I wanted to be a novelist, then a psychologist, then a Japanese to English translator. Actually went to university to become a translator, got a job doing that and realized I hated the modern technology for translating. Became a paralegal (worst decision of my life, hands down), and just resigned that position last month after 6 years of torture. Now I am writing a book, and I hope to have it published as soon as possible.

I wanted to be a nurse. I think I liked the white dress, shoes and nylons that nurses wore during the 1960's. Come to find out, I really don't like to be around sick people and I faint at the sight of blood.

I wanted to be a lego designer. I bedake an architect. With modern 3d drawing programs, it' quite similar, only it doesn't pay very well for the work put in. So I'm looking into becoming an investor. I love real estate and the possibilities a building gives you.

A vet or an pediatric surgeon. It became clear I couldn't do either because I'm an empath. Today, after being a system engineer for the past 28 years, I'm seriously considering going back to studying to become a psychiatrist.

I wanted to be a teacher, which I did, but there were other ideas as well. I wanted to be an artist, writer, volcanologist, Egyptologist and paramedic. Now I have left my job teaching preschoolers and don't really know what else to do.
