There is a lot of things that are frustrating about existing a queer person in a world made for straight people. The homophobia, feelings of loneliness/otherness, needing to come out, etc. But in an effort for people to be happier with their queer identity, tell me your favorite thing about being queer!

I’ll go first. My favorite part of being queer is recognizing how amazing my queer ancestors were. When learning about queer history- one of my many passions- I am continually awed by the strength and resilience of those who came before me. It fills me with a lot of love for my community to know that we have always existed and always will. (Take that, anyone who says being gay is an internet trend!)
Some of my favorite queer ancestors are:
Harvey Milk
Sappho
Whitney Houston - yes, she was queer :) look it up
Bayard Rustin
Audre Lorde
Marsha P. Johnson
Sylvia Rivera
Virginia Woolf
Emily Dickinson
Billie Jean King
Sally Ride
(Note: these are only the ones I can recall of the top of my head)

I love how accepting the queer community is :)

I'm not non binary, but someone I know is and they said one of their favorite things about it is being able to say "no thanks" in regards to gender lol
