All of the water on earth is the same age (scientific estimates vary from 3.8 billion to 5 billion years old), and there's *almost* the same amount now as there was then (only a negligible amount has ever escaped the atmosphere). It perpetually recycles in one form or another. The water that came from your faucet this morning may contain molecules drank by Neanderthals...or dinosaurs.

Why do so many Hanna Barbara characters such as Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, and Snagglepuss walk around wearing ties? It's a limited animation trick when using traditional animation. It's cheaper to animate just the head with a sequence of drawings while using only one drawing for the body while the character is simply standing still and talking rather than moving with their entire body. The tie is there to keep the head and body in place. Otherwise, Yogi's head would be floating around in midair!

The oldest “your mom” joke was discovered on a 3,500 year old Babylonian tablet. Potato fruit is poisonous. (The fruit, not the tuber!) Ohio is the only U.S state that doesn't share a letter with the word "mackerel". Mulan has the highest kill-count of any Disney character. "Spoonfeed" is the longest English word with its letters in reverse alphabetical order. "Schoolmaster" is an anagram of "the classroom." Around 16 million people alive today are direct descendants of Genghis Khan. According to the Bible, the chicken came before the egg.

    1) Get ready for your whole life to become a lie...Mount Everest is not actually the tallest mountain. It's just the tallest mountain above sea level. The tallest Mountain from base to peak is Mauna Kea!

    2) The Twitter bird has a name... Larry. So does the cookie monster! His name is Sid.

    3) The one dollar bill has a unique weblike border. If you look closely at the top right corner, you will see a smallish dot. Upon taking a picture and zooming in, you'll notice that this dot is actually the spider that wove the web! However, some people are convinced that it is an owl or an octopus. Some even think that when turned upside down, it appears to be a skull and crossbones.

So he hired this guy who was well known for being a wonderful salesman, and his name was William Murrie. He was indeed a great salesman, and expected to one day inherit the company so he could pass it to his kids. When Milton finally decided to retire, though, he chose some Percy guy. Feel bad for Murrie yet? Don't worry, he still passes on a company. Meanwhile, there's this guy Forrest Mars who's out at night doing some criminal activity with his friends: putting up cigarette adverts where it says it's against the law. Then the police come over, and while his friends run away successfully, Forrest gets caught. He's supposed to go to jail, but he calls his father to bail him out. I don’t get this one. Isn’t space basically a vacuum? How would they bring some “space” with them to inhale upon their return to a pressurized cabin? Maybe the smell comes from the ionized off-gassing of the protective coatings on their space suits? I have no trouble believing that a radiation sunburned spacesuit would smell like that.

Actually Ice Hockey comes from the Irish game of Hurling. Hurling is older than the recorded history of Ireland at least 3,000 years old and is the world's oldest field sport. It is thought to predate Christianity, having come to Ireland with the Celts. Over 250 years ago, ships carried tens of thousands of Irish emigrants to the four corners of the earth. The Irish spread their various art forms where they went, from song and dance to sport. They don’t come any more Irish than the small ball code. Ice hockey developed when people started playing Hurling on the ice as it was easier to play on the thick ice that the snow covered grass.

Sorry Canada, Ice Hockey was invented in Britain. There exists an edition of 'Juvenile Sports & Pastimes' dating from 1797 that shows an engraving of a chap in a top hat, skating and carrying with him a curved (hockey) stick. Canada’s first official hockey game was 1875. Charles Darwin even references the sport in a letter to his son dated 1853.

This one's for you, Scagsy! Legendary Leeds United manager Don Revie changed their kit to an all-white one in order to try to replicate the success of Spanish footballing giants Real Madrid. And it worked. Revie got the team to what was then known as the First Division within two seasons of taking charge, and in the 13 years he spent as manager, they won a total of eight titles.

The Tanuki of Asia is an animal called a raccoon dog. They look like a raccoon, but their closest relatives are not raccoons
    or dogs, but true foxes.

If everything in the universe increases size by 25%, no one would notice anything different.

Define "everything". Because I'm pretty sure I'd notice my house increase in size by 25%. And I think a few ladies and gents at places like NASA would notice the Sun increasing in size. In fact, that would probably scare the c**p out of them, and they'd send out some sort of alert that the Sun was expanding, and might be at risk of exploding. Also, would this change happen immediately, or over time? I can't imagine a lot of things withstanding an immediate 25% growth out of nowhere.
