Surfing storm surges can be pretty scary, but the rush is so worth it.
only a moment was scary. i was scuba diving for the first time and this was in the st tomas area of the caribbean. there was a group of us that went down and i was excited. the water is incredibly clear and blue - it was stunning. then, someone went past me and hit my face with their flipper, causing mask to slip and my regulator to come out of my mouth. we were in an area that had some outcroppings of huge rocks btw. so, i had to get the regulator cleared and then clear my mask. by the time i got it all set i looked around and there was no one. just me & the ocean. i felt so insignificant and a slight moment of panic. then i saw some bubbles from a distance and beat my butt over there quick.
