I know what my English teacher's husband calls her (pet name). I saw it on a note she left on her desk, and now I can't look at her the same.

Wow, the stories I could tell! But I know the person involved has passed away, so I feel comfortable in sharing this story.
This happened in the late 1960's in Viet Nam. My friend was part of a team that went into hostile country to find out what the enemy was up to. They would also look for targets that they were ordered to kill. It was pretty intense and left him with really bad PTSD.
One evening when I was spending the night with him, he had a nightmare. This was like a flash back where he was reliving a firefight during which he had to kill a child who was up in a tree shooting at him and his team. Apparently, he was the one who had the shot and he really struggled to do it which I am sure we would all do. A friend of his also died and others were hurt, too. I felt so bad for him.
The Viet Cong would take children, tie them up in a tree and give them a gun telling them to shoot at American GI's. This kid did as he was told.
It took me about a half hour, but I finally was able to bring him out of it by talking to him and getting him to listen to me. He never knew I heard as much as I did because I didn't want him to worry about me, so I didn't tell him.

I overheard one of my colleagues telling her friend that she in love with me and that her marriage is suffering because of it.
Apparently she keeps comparing her husband to me and finds herself disliking him more each day and wondering why he can't be more like me.

The thing is, I've met her husband and he's definitely a better person than me. Granted, he doesn't have the same sense of humour, but still a better person.

I work with finances. I know everything about everyone. Your SS#, birthday, signature, what you spend money on, your relationship with your mom/ex/brother, etc.
I have to remember to keep my mouth shut when it's a non-work environment.
Sometimes it's really hard, because you get to know people personally, but you can't tell them their partner is cheating on them because you found out through work.

So my best friend of 4+ years, will consistently put her hands in her pants and sniff after shes done. Then go wash her hands and sometimes she'd come back smelling like baby wipes, I don't know if I should tell her that I know or just let her.. uh.. do her thing.. just to be clear we do NOT touch hands anymore.

When I met my wife, her credit was horrible-think 300-400 range. Serious spending issues, phone and cable shut off-car insurance cancelled. I helped pay off her debts, set her up with a limited credit card-to use and pay off every month, and co-signed a car for her-all to help bring her score back up. After 10 years of hard work and timely payments, it’s now in the 700 range. I told her predatory credit card companies would start sending her C/C offers-THROW THEM AWAY.

I noticed that she began to give me less and less every month to put towards our bills. Had a bad feeling so I logged into her Credit Karma (which I set up, and she knows I have access to). Sure enough, 3 credit cards maxed out. All over 20% internet rate, nearly $20,000 in total. I can still afford to pay the bills, so I’m just going to let her sweat and see what she does

I know my father had an affair with a co-worker. I found a note she had written my Dad telling him what a great time she had during their 'business trip', with some pretty lurid details. My Mom never realized/found out.

My two friends have brothers that I know a lot about, but they don’t know I exist. The two friends don’t talk to me much but I consider them friends.
I know their brothers names, ages, schools, etc. Even favourite foods. One time there was leftover pizza from a church event that one of the brothers didn’t know about, so I went up to him and said “There’s a few slices of pizza left if you want them. They’re in the _____ room” He immediately jumped up to get some.
I was a hero that day. 🦸‍♀️

Someone I was friends with until I was about 10, then they moved away. My parents told me that they couldn't come to camp that summer because they were in the hospital. I asked what happened. They told me about my friend's mental health issues (something my friend's grandma told them that she shouldn't have) and that they're trans. My friend has no idea I know, and we are still in contact.
