A coffee cup that fills itself. More seriously though, it was keeping my dad out of the hospice center so he could spend his last days at home with his grandchildren. It was my mums wish (she was a CNA for years and saw the toll that being away from familiar surroundings when in bad health caused). He made until the morning after her memorial service and it was one of the brightest, happiest days that he had at the end.

I'm dead set on learning not to fill the gaps with "stuff". I just decluttered my home and I don't want to go shopping again to get a rush of temporary satisfaction. I want to learn to fill the gaps with mindfulness and gratitude, not the pressing superficial desire to own another object that won't fix my inner self.

I was terribly bad with routine and order in my life. I was set on changing that. It took me a few years to get where I'm at today. I know that if I wasn't as dead set to change this, I'd still be the same.

When i was 5 or 6 i was dead set on never having a husband. I even wrote a song about it (not a good one but still song) for my piano teacher. All the adults who knew me thought that just meant i never wanted to get married. Nope, I'm just fruity

    A few life paths:

    1. Go to Chicago, attend Chicago Uni, find a girlfriend, graduate with Medicine degree, move to Toronto, come back to Chicago.
    2. Go to Toronto, attend Toronto Uni, graduate med school, find a partner, die before we get to marry
    3. Stay in Australia, go to Uni Melb, graduate med school, go to Toronto for fellowship, find a partner in Canada where LGBTQ+ people and relationships are more accepted and bring them back to Australia if they agree

    Don’t ask why
