Hey Pandas, What Does This Mean To You: “What Profit A Man If He Gains The World But Loses His Soul?”

That is a verse in the bible, Mark 8:36. This verse in its context means that even if you are the most wealthy person in the world and ruler of many nations, when you die, that is all going to mean nothing. If you are so focused on this earthly life and not what comes after, everything accomplished on earth will mean nothing in the afterlife. This verse basically means to focus on your spiritual life and try to get to heaven rather than gaining power and possessions. I digress, hope this helps in some way :)
If you gain the world, if you gain all the earthly riches and desires of this world, you can’t bring that with you when you die. If you believe in souls, this is saying to focus on your soul, focus on kind acts to others and generally being the best version of yourself, rather than forfeiting that to become rich, because that will mean something after you die.
